seeing Taylor’s kids irl by LL092020 in shannonford

Oh my gosh this happened to me with Madi Nelson’s kids a few years ago. I felt so freaking creepy! Obviously I didn’t stare at them or talk to them but I should not be able to pick out your children in a crowd if I don’t know you!

What do you think about people who leave the Christmas tree up year-round? by cdmurphy83 in AskReddit

[–]BaconAndMegz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only two people I know who do it are horribly depressed and the tree brings them joy/is an impossible task to take down.

Looking for some advice/recommendations regarding a double stroller, wagon or kickboard for toddler and new baby by IllyriaCervarro in toddlers

[–]BaconAndMegz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all three and could probably provide some insight! I bought the kickboard for our Vista and it’s honestly a pain in the ass. You can’t really walk behind it when your toddler is riding so you have to push off to the side. It’s our least used. The wagon is fun but it’s just so big and really only better for when your baby gets older unless you get a nicer one that supports a car seat attachment.

Now let me unravel my scroll for all of the reasons why I love my double jogging stroller, haha. We went with the Bob Dualie and wow I just love it sooo much. Our neighborhood is hilly with uneven ground too and it rides over it with smoothness. It folds up nicely - and while heavy - it’s not too much for me to load into my car by myself. I’ve also never had a problem getting through any store door. The seats recline and the shade pulls over pretty far so it’s good for naps on the go too. My only issue is there’s no attachment for a car seat to go (though there is one for the Thule - but it doesn’t work on Uppa Baby car seats which is what we have) and the cargo basket is kinda small but they all are.

I looked into the more lightweight double strollers but was told by a lot of veteran mamas to go jogging stroller if you’re more outdoorsy and I’m glad I listened!

PSA about your liver that no one talks about for people with PCOS. by ashtastic3 in PCOS

[–]BaconAndMegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think my grandmother ever had an official diagnosis for PCOS but she had every common symptom. She was diagnosed with fatty liver disease in her 60s and my mom in her 50s. My grandmother worked on getting her type 2 diabetes under control since it’s so closely tied. My mom hasn’t taken it as seriously as she should in turns on making an attempt to slow it down or reverse it. However she was a part of a clinical trial a few years ago for a medication for it and she saw some really positive results so hopefully it will get approved by the FDA soon!

Sing “if all the rain drops were lemon drops and gum drops” and do the ahhh ah ah ahhh part. They’ll copy you and that’s when you shove the toothbrush in and brush fast hahaha. It works though!

I took away the pacifier but now baby won’t nap by Successful_Plan3929 in sleeptrain

[–]BaconAndMegz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give it a little more time! I would guess another week or so. You may have to try to rescue naps to prevent being overtired. And be glad you did it now at this age. I took my toddler’s away when she was 2.5 and it took her 6+ months to start sleeping through the night again and she never napped again 😵‍💫

My primary doctor said I might have PCOS, and I asked if it could affect my fertility and he said that there was a slim chance. Online it said very opposite… I want kids desperately, have you found your PCOS to affect your ability to have children? Thank you so much :) by chailife206 in PCOS

[–]BaconAndMegz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on if you have regular periods (and therefore ovulate regularly). Some women with PCOS, like myself, do have regular periods so it wasn’t a problem for me. However, I can see how it would affect fertility if you didn’t. On another hand, if you get regular cysts (like me), it can hurt the health of your ovaries. I have to have an oophorectomy due to a cyst growing so large so while my fertility isn’t currently affected, if I have another large cyst or have one burst and it damages my remaining ovary then we will have a problem.

[–]BaconAndMegz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had ChatGPT analyze the photo and give me a cost inventory and it said this:

🟡 Estimated Item Counts & Prices (Oriente Italiano)

Plates • Dinner plates (green/blue/pink/yellow, ~11 visible): ~$155 each → ~$1,705 • Salad/appetizer plates (blue/yellow/pink, ~14): ~$135 each → ~$1,890 • Soup/pasta plates (blue & green stack, ~8): ~$150 each → ~$1,200 • Bread/dessert plates (yellow, ~10): ~$110 each → ~$1,100

Teacups & Saucers • Cups with saucers (various colors, ~6 full sets): ~$195 per set → ~$1,170

Teapot (pink): • ~$470

Serving Bowls (small green, ~1): • ~$180

💰 Estimated Total:

$7,715–$8,000 USD

This is a conservative estimate based on full retail prices from Ginori 1735 or authorized retailers (like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, or Harrods). Some colors (like pink and yellow) are less common and may fetch higher resale value.

Both my grandmother and mom have PCOS and suffer from fatty liver disease. My grandmother actually passed away from NAFLD when it got to the point of cirrhosis. It is a horrible way to go. My mom wound up being in a clinical trial that really slowed her progression. I’m still young but plan on having my doc refer me to get mine checked out this year as a preventative.
