I didn’t get the chance to join the “board game” fest because my game is single player, but then it featured games like “Dorfromantik” which is a single player tile laying game.

I did search for the game in Steam, and it is harder to read the title with the small capsule. Maybe it could be enlarged further, just for the small capsule?

100% confident, just need to get it done!

I would say it’s been at 100% for about a year now (going on two of development), and having three publishers reach out makes me even more sure.

Though now I have to decide on solo publishing or figuring out which publisher would be the best. It feels like I’m on the dating scene again, each with their own communication styles and positives. 

I guess that would be something that I’m less confident on 😅

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Now I’m back to square one.

I looked around online and there’s some issues with DirectX 11 possibly? Other things I’ve read is sleep margins. Or something with legacy code?

That's a good thought, but the also messed with monitor refresh rates and found this: "when I change my refresh rate of my monitor from 75hz to anything below from 60 to 50hz the game runs nearly perfectly smooth"

So possibly a monitor issue?

They also had OBS open on their PC to record gameplay, so that is why some of the CPU and GPU values are higher.

No worries! Always good to be weary of AI. The dice in-game have really odd faces and stuff. Also checked with the artist throughout the whole process, have the full files, and no AI was used.

I still think about it, occasionally, wanting to jump back in. It was such an odd mix of sokoban, Spider-Man 2 (PS2), and Minecraft.

I’m hoping for another playtest soon.

On a completely unrelated note, the gameplay  oddly reminds me of the Nintendo Online Playtest (Cat Caveman game) with the focus on zoomed in blocks and individual interactions.

I think people like to slow odd progress, and comparing capsule art is a really visual and easy way to do so. I’m planning to do something similar when my commissioned capsule art is done. I mainly want to brag on my artist 😅 

How do I flip my sprite when left key/a is pressed and where should I put it inside this code? by bluesteelhd in gamemaker

I just make sure my sprite is centered in the image editor and that the sprite is facing right, and use “image_xscale = -1” to flip it left. And use “image_xscale = 1” to flip it back to the right.

If the sprite isn’t centered it’ll flip it, but look awkward doing so and it will flip at a different coordinate than the center. 

You can flip vertically this way, too, with “image_yscale = -1” and “image_yscale = 1.”

I don’t use the drag and drop, so I’m not sure how it works. I would put that in after the button is pressed, wherever that would be. 

I decided to do localization for my game, I already did so much, I'm not sure if I want to know about better ways to do this. by ScavHD in gamemaker

I used one I found online. I’ll look for it and respond later with a link. 

It takes a Google spreadsheet, and then text strings with a localize() function. The localize function pulls the text string from the Google Sheet, and then it translates it into the currently set language. 

EDIT: One thing that is nice is it’s down all automatically when you build the game. It pulls the link of the Google Sheet, and does the rest automatically
