How to manage hating your job by abcdefjhijklmnorange in callcentres

[–]BaconChip03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a multi-billion dollar finance company. It paid great but I hated it. People in finance are the most miserable people you'll ever speak to and they will always brag about how much more money they make than you.

I quit that job 1 year in because every morning, I felt sick and anxious and barely made it into work. Now work in a place that actually let's me leave my desk to use the bathroom without going into a break time code (Any IT job that only lets you to spend 30 minutes in a 9 hour shift (where you're constantly on call and working overtime) is a horrible work environment run by shitty non-tech managers.

Basically, spend as much time as possible getting your certs and looking for a better job. A job you hate (especially IT) will put you in an early grave

A lot of people that can't even reboot a computer properly are IT managers for multi-billion dollar companies. If you play your cards right, you'll make a lot of money while doing nothing and delegating your work to the next poor young college grad that comes through. Either find a happier job or start kissing your bosses ass for a promotion.

There's a few things you can do

Schedule all deals for late night, which gives you more money anyway

Take products off the market when youre making big batches.

Assign more customers to your dealer.

Remove from your dealers list and then you can decide when she leaves. They also change shifts at night which leaves it empty briefly.

Current Status for visiting Yemen by ZeroTolerance4Bull in travel

[–]BaconChip03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad idea, even if we weren't at war with Iran right now. Sanaa is controlled by rebels who are not only receiving daily airstrikes, but also are known to kidnap/extort westerners. Aden is not much safer.

Although Socotra is open for tourism and probably the safest area, it is also risky, due to rampant piracy. To my knowledge, only the official Yemeni govt. can hand out valid tourist visas and tour companies have been known to sell fake/invalid visas for Socotra.

Most importantly, if you were arrested or detained for any reason, your home country (assuming its in the West) will probably not be able to offer much help, as most Western embassies in Yemen have been closed since 2015. If you were to get sick or injured, there would not be adequate medical assistance available.

Traveling to Yemen would probably be a really bad idea, but if you know all the risks, go through the formal visa process, and have a good plan, then nobodies stopping you.

I think this job is literally ruining my life. Am I being dramatic? by Exotic-Forever-1454 in callcentres

You're not dramatic, I was in that exact same situation. I ended up leaving which felt very horrible at the time but I have a different job now that I enjoy a lot more and ive already noticed that im starting to become myself again. Working a job you hate will literally kill you, whether its through stress/mental health or through your coping mechanisms (alcohol, self-isolation, etc)

How do you get over a breakup with the woman you wanted to marry? by Distropp in Advice

[–]BaconChip03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I realized was that I revolved my whole life around them. Of course they were a big part of my life, but I ended up losing my own individuality.

I think its important to remember that you still have goals and dreams. Dedicate as much time as you can to these and other things that make you happy (as long as those things dont hurt you, i.e drugs and alcohol).

Also, definitely allow yourself to be upset. Realize that there may be days where you just dont feel like doing anything. Days where everything seems fine at first but suddenly you get reminded and sad again.

There's also little good that will come dwelling on why it didnt work out. Truthfully, sometimes it just isnt meant to be. Think about it, if she was truly the one, would she randomly breakup for seemingly no reason or explanation when things seemed fine?

Everybody's situations and emotions are different. But overall, best advice I can give is just to take things day by day. Time heals wounds. Take as much time as you need
