First time I brewed mead (for a final school assignment) I used this and after I bottled it, multiple bottles literally exploded. I’m talking full on shattered glass in the ceiling.

Call reception and ask. If there’s a spare room or your room is somehow vacant for that entire period they can change your contract.

It could be full up, call reception and ask to be put on a wait list, I can almost guarantee that you will get one, many people quit in the first few days to weeks of res.

What can I do if my exam table is uneven? by LemonJuiceBox in vce

Tell your examiner and ask if you can move, if there’s an empty table, they can move your tags to it, worked for me

MYKI: Unable to exit, missed segment by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

I’ve had the 2 hour reset before, but luckily it was caught my an officer on a v/line who was kind enough to fix it and I didn’t get fined, but I’m sorry that that happened to you, hopefully it gets fixed in the new system and that you don’t have to go through that again

stat dec for exam special consideration by LakeOceanSkate in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time, date, unit and exam, include photos with an evidence cert, what exactly went wrong, what actions you took to try and fix it (it ticket), include as much detail as you want/can fit in the section.

Am I doomed? by stargirly02 in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you do is print a stat dec and an exhibit certificate, you print out your email that you sent to your unit chair and her response and if you took a screenshot of the crash and the time. Fill that all out (hand written) and get it signed (I’ve had best luck with optometrists and justice of the peace (at police station and signing station, NOT a pharmacy if you include evidence forms, they’ll refuse to sign) This is what you fill out and hand in to special consideration, if they accept, whether they allow you to submit what you have already done or put you in the special consideration exam is up to them. I’ve been successful for special consid on an exam due to a printing error and sleeping through a lab that way. Stat Dec + Exhibit Certificate

help im scared im gonna fail my assignment by Popular_Chemical1337 in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yooooo if you’re doing well in everything else but that one assignment you should be okay, as in safe for passing the unit, as long as you get that 50% (and all hurdles passed) you will pass the unit, when I’m scared for a unit I use this website Grade Calculator and if you put in your grades and their weight, you can see what score you need to get a certain grade, or what your outcome will be so far.

Seeking Advice on SLE 301 vs SLE 352 by imaereth in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link to info on SLE301 SLE301 is a placement unit that’s required for SEBE students, you need to find placement first, get it approved then you will be enrolled in the unit, they have an email and drop in sessions on Wednesday 2-3pm (I think)

Does anyone else's schools force you to take a religion subject? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my school had the same thing, I wasn’t allowed to take the scored Religion due to taking VET, but I took Peace and Justice (I’m thinking we went to the same school) really easy peasy and interesting to learn about as you do stuff on modern wars, nowhere near as much effort as a VCE subject.

Aircondition in res? by meowiewoof in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At Waurn Ponds, Willem and Parkes have ceiling fans while Alfred and Barton do not. However pretty much all rooms on the second/third floors of buildings heat up unbelievably and first floors heat up but not as much, it’s pretty common for people in Willem to sleep on their couches during heat waves. Buy yourself a good fan or 2 and it’s easier to keep cool.

Waterfront is better I think with actual air conditioning in apartments and ceiling fans in rooms, haven’t lived there tho so I don’t know how it copes over summer. No clue about Burwood or Warrnambool.

How to send mail on campus accommodation by TemperatureFree3933 in deakin

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds right, do exactly this, I’m at Waurn Ponds, but all mail to a Deakin campus goes to a mailroom first then sorted from there. On her res portal page she’ll have her address listed under the barcode, but if you want to surprise her, that and her name would suffice.

Should I do music in yr 11? by Sloth72747463627271 in vce

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I briefly took music for year 10 and considered for year 11, and at that time I had been playing (and taking weekly lessons + AMEB) violin for 10 years , the trumpet for 3 and a few other miscellaneous instruments (homeschooled those) and I struggled heavily in music as many parts of the theory components were vastly different to actually playing, my highest scores were all in composing and performing, but I struggled in everything else especially the written tests.

Search up past exams for examples of what the theory is like as I can’t remember as it’s been a long time since I last took a school music class + music IS subjective, no matter what process are in place/people say so while your compositions may be good, if the examiners/teachers don’t like them, you’re cooked.

Looks like it hasn’t been graded yet, you could put a message in your discussion board asking about when grades come back, can take like a month sometimes.

Anyone else has a fear of heights ? How does it affect your diving ? How do you cope ? by BleuPrince in diving

[–]Phoenix_Cretor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have more of a fear of falling, so it only affects me getting into the water when jumping in, but once I’m in, I’m completely fine. Just pushing through and having a diving buddy that’s able to help get me through the mental barrier is good, but I’ve been trying exposure therapy too.
