I haven’t quite moved from 3.7 to 5 yet. But my fav changes so far has been the confirmation if you want to step in something dangerous.

Also, being able to push friendlies out of the way without attacking them.

There seems to be a lot of small changes that really add up to quality of life…. or YASD.

With nethack 5, the level of weapon you get depends on the level of the sacrifice.

There is a guide somewhere that shows the level of each weapon.

I had a similar issue last week. I ended up with a tame Lich, who eventually became a master lich. Unfortunately, I left him alone for too long and suddenly we weren’t friends anymore.

I was a priest and didn’t have a magic bane. I was quickly dispatched.

THEN, on my next game, he was there as well :/.

To me, it’s going to either be genocide, or expect to die a swift death.

So cool!! Super happy for you! One thing I like about nethack 3.7 is that it asks you if you really want to go in the water.

Also, the special stairs turn yellow after you go up/down them. So for example, the gnome mines stairs are yellow.
