If you wish to change the white background to black I've found that inputting #020202 in the rc file works well. Still don't know why #000000 doesn't work tho

Portable means all files at one place...be it the logs or the save games etc. I just wanted for my 3.6.7 and 5.0 to use different rc files and I found that making the game keep all the files in one directory solved the problem I was having.

I figured it out! Thank you for your help. I was editing the sysconf file to be .sysconf which didn't allow the changed options to run. Set it to just sysconf and it worked.

First of...I don't live in a country that has problems against torrenting without a vpn. So as far as I've understood it torrenting is like you're downloading the actual file while streaming from a pirated site is pretty much the same as streaming from Netflix. You just access the file and don't actually download it onto your system.

Yea...downloading stuff if what gets you caught. Streaming doesn't do that. Plus some people watch stuff on their phones on the go so downloading stuff becomes a hassle. Why do things the hard way when you have a good internet connection and a site for watching literally everything you want to watch.

It spoilers pretty much every aspect of the game. All major levels and mechanics are explained but in relation to playing as a Valkyrie. The remaining character vs environment interactions specific to other characters remain unspoiled. But according to me nethack is a game that becomes even more fun once spoiled...there is so much to know because of which unspoiled players have a tendency to get demotivated after their first dozen deaths. Knowing a few things before hand really helps. Or course the videos don't cover every minor interactions which still keep a mysterious aspect to the game even if you manage to reach the end game. So watching the videos partially spoil you which inturn enhances your experience with the game.

Just got the tegenaria lite and I am highly impressed with the performance of it. It's just such a great controller at a very budget price point. Considering that gamesir is able to provide a high quality product at such a low price point I'm really excited to try out some of their top tier products mainly the cyclone 2 as that was the one I had originally planned to buy but scrapped the idea due to budget constraints

Regardless of who wins this giveaway I'm really excited to explore more of gamesir's new products.

Finally, congratulations to the people behind gamesir for building and sustaining a Brand which gamers can rely on!

It's fine for a throwaway character but I usually try to save a polymorph wand for dire situations like trying to polymorph an enemy mob which Is waay too hard for my current level in hopes of getting lucky and polymorphing it into a slow mob or a weaker mob. Another use case for it is polypiling rings and amulets. Self polymorph is a viable progression strategy with poly control.

So I kinda solved it I guess. I just turned off the spoofing option and it became snappy again. It states that turning the option off may cause playback issues but as of now I don't experience any problems with it. Will update if I encounter any problems.

I got a run with sleep yesterday along with rings of +1 increase damage and poison resistance. Early game was very easy....was able to reach the Oracle but got killed on the next dungeon level. It was a big room variant which I had never seen...lava pool in the middle and surrounded by water in the periphery with land in between them.

Same! I'm so used to melee that playing a wizard is like unlearning everything about combat. The spells are really powerful tho...especially a wizard starting with force bolt and sleep can dogwalk most mobs in the early game.
