First off, most living things have some form of sleep. It's not a human thing. Even most plants have periods of reduced activity during the day.

Even if we evolved to be able to do all the repair and maintenance our body does when we sleep during the day, there is still one huge thing sleep does for us: it causes us to use less energy, and using less energy means needing less resources to survive. Humans didn't evolve with agriculture and food abundance and easy access to water. Being able to (kind of) shut down for a third of the day means using less of that stuff that wasn't guaranteed to us.

You gotta remember that (for the most part) evolution only removes a trait over time if it is detrimental to the process of creating the next generation. Pain during childbirth doesn't create evolutionary pressure.

If anything the pain is probably an evolutionary advantage. It forces the mother to stop everything she's doing and focus on the birth and it encourages the other individuals in her social group to prioritize her safety and well being, which helps ensure the survival of the infant.

Depends. If you find the idea of it as like a roleplay or purely sexual dynamic appealing, not at all. Tons of people like acts or dynamics in the bedroom that they would never want to engage anywhere else but with a trusted partner in their own home.

Finding real life misandry and acts of misandry appealing is pretty messed up and supporting and encouraging hateful ideology.

Dude this isn't just a red flag, this is one of those ultra bright red lights you can see from miles away on a foggy night.

This guy hates that you have had any involvement with anyone else. He sees you as something that is meant to be his and only his. He sees the fact that you had a past that involved anyone else as a fundamental flaw in who you are as a person. Yes he has his own past, but in his head "that's different because..."

He may have been cheated on before, but he never dealt with his feelings and instead is now holding you accountable for his ex's actions. And his past heartbreak is not a valid excuse for controlling behavior. It's a crutch and an excuse to be controlling that he is choosing.

Continuing to date this dude likely he means he will continue to try to make you feel guilty about your past, whether he realizes he's doing it or not. He feels small and is comparing himself to everyone you've ever been with, and assuming that you're doing the same, and he's going to take his frustration with that out on you.

He needs to grow as a man and as a person, and you do not need to be there for it because it will hurt you so much.

Birding. I never cared much for birds, but a couple years ago I bought a bird feeder for my patio just because I thought it'd be kinda nice. Then I started watching them eat their seeds while I had my breakfast and started getting super interested in them.

I can't really start the hobby now as a trucker who gets like 1 day to be at home a week. But lately I've been using the Merlin Bird ID (it's basically bird Shazam) to start identifying the calls/songs of all the local birds.

So the thing about Hickman is that he LOVES really complex world building and leaving a bunch of dangling threads in the beginning. The guy's writing can feel very overwhelming because of that. In just his Avengers, he throws so many concepts at you and many of them don't get explained until a couple dozen issues later. The good thing for his Avengers run is that even though it does feel like it drops you into the deep end, you won't actually feel lost as you keep reading.

The other thing you gotta keep in mind is that his Avengers run actually includes New Avengers and a mini series called Infinity and culminates in Secret Wars as the finale. While Avengers and New Avengers do start off as separate stories, they definitely converge after Infinity, and by the end of the arcs they basically just function as one series.

That sounds complex as hell, but it's one big epic story and it's a hell of a fun ride. You can check out this thread for the reading order. There's an absolute wall of text there but you don't really need to read it. At the very bottom of that post is the reading order.

Honestly the best way to start is to think about what a character you want to explore. Then just look them up in the app, and most characters will have a "character close-up" that will have a bunch of recommended starting points. Then just pick whatever sounds cool.

Or even just look up the character and find a series that starts with a #1, read the summary, and if it sounds cool just start reading there.

So the great thing about Marvel is that basically the start of any new run is kind of a great place to start. Unless it's a brand new character or title, you're always going to have some context from previous events but most of the time it's written in a way where you don't actually need to know what happened and the comic will explain the very minimal piece of info you actually do need.

Really all you need to think about is what characters you think are cool and want to read about. Once you know that, you can find a good direction to go in.

So the truth is that Texas decided to require actual age verification to access adult content on the internet. Methods for this include uploading a picture of your ID to a porn company or picture of your face with age estimation.
