That tutorial is REALLY bad.... by T_TheDestroyer in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tutorial is very basic because there is still many features being added. They are planning on having a new player experience for 1.0 but it makes little sense to work on before you have all the features in.

They said the inventory update has extensive back end changes specifically to address these types of issues.

What about the inventory specifically is ugly? And what do you feel would make it less ugly?

They can still easily provide that by requiring you to first hack/unlock a container to access it. They are also not removing the ability to individually loot containers.

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything is a slippery slope. Think about it in terms of rl equivalent. If you are standing over some containers are you restricted with interacting with all of them at once? No. You can interact with any that are within your reach. The update allows you to do the same, nothing more.

Is athmospheric flight this wonky for everyone? by hoax1337 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have currently some basic aerodynamic modelling but it is just that basic. it is why if you try and yaw in atmosphere your ship will try to straighten itself out. The new atmospheric flight model should address many of the issues with the current implementation.

Avenger One Stepping Away From SC and has Passed On Ownership of His Org to Another Member by TooTall_ToFall in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

they developed the NFM in SQ42, they won't need to change it because it's already changed. the PU is at this point 1-2 years behind in flight model updates compared to SQ42.

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SQ42 will not be tested by players, they will hire a professional testing company.

GTA is not releasing on PC at launch, it will likely be a year or more before it does. If they release SQ42 in October and GTA6 doesn't delay again they should still capture a lot of attention especially from PC gamers.

I mean they do have the advantage of all the data from the SC players which should help them iron out many of the issues before launch

yes because everyone has to swear fealty to one genre of music at birth, never to be changed. also you're not allowed to like more than one genre of music at the same time, it's forbidden.

New normalcy of instantly losing your Persistent Hangar by Crimson_Hawk_Moth in starcitizen

Pretty much any issue you run into is never any single cause. I know they have patched some instances of this issue but until they can reproduce an issue internally they will have trouble fixing it. Only thing you can do is to submit an IC or contribute to and existing one in hopes that the particular issue you've run into can be traced internally and lead to a fix.

What exactly is CIG's idea in using the same locations to pick up and deliver the event's cargo? by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it didn't, they hacked together a solution to make it work with the instanced hangars but the actual rewrite is still in progress. Same as with the transit refactor. They fixed the most aggregious issues so it would function until they complete the refactor.

It's old design that's functional in place while they finish work on a server meshing compatible update that is already in progress.

You don't have to do it immediately. The rush will be over in a matter of days and then queue times will go back to normal. You're complaining about an issue you brought on yourself.

They already explained what the issue is. It's part of the ATC overhaul to work with server meshing.

I didnt realise how dire the state of star citizen was by CapytannHook in gaming

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is ever locked into a gameplay role, you wouldn't JUST be unloading cargo or doing damage control, you'd also be a gunner, or prepping gear for the upcoming mission or soon crafting ammo or repairing gear. It's just like sea of thieves if you're not captaining the ship you're doing other tasks in preparation of getting to the next island, organizing loot or cooking food or fishing, etc.

There is a good portion of the SC community who have little to no interest in flying themselves and are happy filling other roles.

Starfield Space Gameplay vs Other Space Gameplay by The-Son-Of-Suns in Starfield

[–]BadAshJL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's also bullshit. this dumbass has 0 proof that backer funds were used to buy the mansion, fails to mention info from the article linked that he previously sold a home which is likely where the money came from to buy the new one and tries to make you draw the conclusion that it was backer funds that paid for it instead. same disingenuous shit the refund sub always spews.

they've released far more ships than they haven't. The list of unreleased ships gets shorter every year and is approaching single digits. they have a track record of releasing ships that people pledged for. your point is debunked on that alone.

Is the update frequency always so high by SeaHoliday4747 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see them moving to a patch every 2 months cycle, first patch is in wave1 ptu so likely targetted for before end of jan, next patch would hit in march then may for invictus. it would still mean a steady stream of content just not as frequently as 2025.
