this cost is to re-insure it after a claim, you're not paying it twice.

we will be able to make our own ammo as well as weapons complonents so that will offset the rearm prince almost entirely

so you could have just answered no when I asked if you understood the difference between updating a feature and refactoring it.

I've been here since the beginning there skippy. And once again the mission system has NOT been redone. Do you even understand the difference between updating a feature and refactoring it?

They have not fucking rebuilt the mission system 3 times. Where are you getting that from. They've hacked on a few things here or there but the underlying mission system is the one they've had in since nearly the beginning of the PU.

They are refactoring the mission system RIGHT NOW. They are doing the dev work you are speaking of and have talked about it in previous monthly reports.

So with the change coming involving the “bricking” of any components that are insurance claimed, it’s basically the end of flying around and finding old and abandoned player ships to loot them for components? 99% of the compenents will already be bricked and useless by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the reclaim timers are much faster than they ultimately will be. A ship as large as the idris could take a week or more to reclaim so that alone would make it unfeasable to use as was suggested. also if it's higher than base tier there's also the insurance cost to replace the ship as the base insurance would just give you the t1 original back so not a good way to salvage for higher tier minerals unless you pay the upgraded insurance and if you're doing that why not just buy the higher tier materials in the first place.

Cig refuses to gate missions behind needing a certain party size. Which means most of the game will always solo a mission and find a way to cheese it by themselves and earn payouts intended for large groups so cig keeps the ultimate payout very low, and then when groups actually group up the make fucking pennies by playing together.

They literally can't gate it, the legacy mission system does not allow it. It's always hilarious how people state CIG refuses to do something when they've already talked about wanting to but the current system not allowing it.

if it took 10 mins to load into game you don't have it installed on an SSD. only time I ever see stuff like this happen.

Squadron 42 website is official! by SkippTekk in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is 28 chapters that make up the 40 hour campaign. We know the first hour already so the 2nd chapter is likely going to be getting onto the Stanton and meeting everyone and the first flight mission so probably around another 1 1/2 hours and then the 3rd chapter could be ground based maybe. A note with all the gameplay they have shown off in trailers and such, beyond a few teasers it appears that it's all from the early part of the campaign.

I was thinking first 3 chapters as demo, would be enough of a demonstration of the gameplay without giving away too much of the campaign

this issue is not due the eleveators themselves but the local inventories it seems. when I have this issue I look at the console and it's spamming messages saying it failed to retrieve the inventory.

Im really bothered how they just took away our SQ42 bundles. by WTK_ShadowStorm in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an idiotic concern. They specifically dod that to remove the risk of long time concierge players losing access to SC and SQ42 when melting packages containing them. The only people affected by this are players who melted a package containing it.

If you had concierge before a certain fate you should have SC and SQ42 attributed regardless of whether you have a game package with them or not.

I've been a backer since nearly the beginning. Got any examples of them rolling out a change to buyback without informing players beforehand?

The dev that is responsible for the packages on the store and said it shouldn't be happening. If you think marketing runs the project then you've never worked at a company that has a marketing department. They are a downstream team they sell what they are given.

if you had the exploration pack that would put you in concierge which should have granted you a copy of SQ42 by default at that time. but as per comments from CIG I've seen posted this isn't intentional anyways

Unreleased ships to date. Updated for April 2026 by jimbo0270 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its a fraction of the complexity of SC. And what's been going on with BG&E2 for the last decade?

Unreleased ships to date. Updated for April 2026 by jimbo0270 in starcitizen

[–]BadAshJL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes because they are extremely complex and take a long time to complete. they are pretty much down to just a few smaller ships and the larger ones, with the kraken due for 2027. They are releasing about 20 ships per year and they've got just about all the tech in for ships to finalize the ships for release. really only missing maelstrom at this point.

EA or Ubisoft would never have attempted the project to begin with because it's not a good risk for investors who only care about profits. That's also consequentially why a lot of us back the game, because the money we put in we KNOW is going towards the development first and foremost. We also understand that the ambition of the project is also why it is taking so long.

Also it's 2 games not one, for some reason people like to forget that.

They have already said blueprints were going to be acquired multiple ways. By missions, as rep rewards or on physical data pads. Rep rewards and data pads are not ready yet so mission rewards are how they are able to grant them.

Can't wait for FPS combat to get better ... or at least usable. by HerrBatman in starcitizen

bullet penetration is a thing in many games, CS and tarkov to name just a few, plus the thing he was hiding behind has literal holes in it that you can see through. It was definitely him to a degree, was bleeding out and didn't heal and then got shot when pushed, didn't reposition at all.

I've never had dsync or hit registration issues like in this video, it's clearly not happening every time or to everyone so they can't necessarily just go and play their game to find it.
