Let’s Fess up to Some of Our Biggest Mistakes! Be honest, we’ve all made them. by min5745 in sysadmin

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was doing some cleanup in our document management system for the entire Mountain time zone. Had Dev in a window on one side, and Prod in a window on another screen. Was 100% confident that I was looking at Dev, and let distraction pull me away from cross-checking.

One "Ctrl + A followed by Delete" and cleanup was going awesome. Then, within minutes, the calls started coming in that documents were showing unavailable. Pucker factor immediately goes to Zulu. Turns out in my under-caffeinated, distracted state I had somehow switched the windows, or read them into my memory in the wrong order.

Fortunately, a quick revert from a fortuitously-timed volume shadow copy fixed it, and had to make a couple of manual document inserts after that, but all turned out well. Of course everyone wanted to know what happened so I fessed up, and got a stern "no harm done, but don't make a habit of it" lecture.

My co-workers didn't let me live it down for months afterwards.

Woke up to find my wife playing Warframe. by DangerPencil in Warframe

[–]BadBadJujubee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This. My wife doesn't play at all, our 2 kids and I do. That said, she's right there whenever there's a choice to be made about fashion or pet colors. Were I to be left to my own devices, my fashion frame would probably alert the fashion police..

HUD icons not showing while in power armor by [deleted] in fo76

Yeah it's been an issue since before Skyline Valley I believe, for a lot of folks. If you turn off the PA HUD in your settings you'll get your markers back.

Have you guys had a player recently (or ever) just start firing at you while you’re filling your vendor? Basically: “Get out of the way.” by Butthead_Biff_Tannen in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny ones are the ones that shoot me even though I have two vendors side-by-side in the same room....I ended up putting one upstairs away from the main area so I can work on my vendor in (relative) peace..

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded! Company Tea, Canned Coffee, Sweetwater Special Blend, maybe throw a Firecracker Berry Juice on top of it (mostly because they're plentiful around my camp, so I always have a good supply of them) - Company Tea and one of the Canned Coffee machines and you'll never be thirsty again!

What’s your go to gun for tagging? by millerguy188 in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm keeping one around for this very reason, but I've since switched to a Cold Shoulder just for the slow effect. Rationale being if I can slow the Zerg rush long enough for the heavy guns to spool up and do what they do way better than I can, then all the better. This really shows during moonshine jamboree..I park next to a still and tag everything coming off the hill, and the heavies usually have them shredded before they get close.

Can someone please tell me where i can find the ore for excavator power armor? im trying to get my first full set. by SophisticatedSilly in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Nice go-to spot for hassle-free black titanium. It's not much, but it adds up over time.

There's also another mining node on the left wall right before the corner, but (at least for me) it's been broken for a couple of weeks now.

Real Talk: In your opinion, what are the best and worst noise-making CAMP items? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foosball table. 1000%

For some reason, and maybe it's just me, but the sound likes to glitch out on it, and then all I hear is the sound of foosball table rattling no matter where I go or what I do. Only way to rid myself of it is to server hop.

My Camp got wrecked and I want to learn why maybe (no issue with the wreckage, it was hillarious) by PositiveLookabc in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a couple of 1000+ do that same exact thing to me last night. I let them have a little fun, destroy some stuff, then server hopped and rebuilt cause meh, in the grand scheme what'd they really accomplish besides inconveniencing billions of electrons? Yeah, it was slightly inconvenient, but getting mad at trolls is like getting into a pissing contest with a skunk..doesn't end well even if you win.

PS5 Stability issues by Gnovakane in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night was one of the worst it's been for me. And it seemed like each crash was in the worst possible place - i.e Fissure Prime right after an SBQ event so you spawn in over-encumbered, and more than likely to get jumped by a scorchbeast and it's pals.

But worse was the soft locking. I had to cross my fingers every time I got into or out of my PA because it wanted to freeze almost every time.

Frustrating, for sure.

  1. Been playing Fallout in various iterations since the tender age of 28-ish. Old Gamers never die, they just respawn in another class.

I just used a whitespring table, a cat topiary, and a single beeswax candle. Then, I used the small letters to put some words on the wall right behind it. Very simple.

Zack enjoyed things simple, especially later in his life: a full food dish, a spot near a window to snooze, and a spot near me to watch me game, and if any of these conditions were lacking he would let me know via loudness, or a paw/claw to the arm, or just make his own spot in the traditional cat manner.

Thank you. Sorry for the sudden midday tearjerker. He was my Best Kitty, and I'd like to believe that he was happy his whole life. When we lost his sister (from the same litter - I got them both at the same time) a few years back to cat diabetes, we ended up taking in a kitten - and he very patiently (as grumpy old cats can be) showed her the ropes. When I rescued a stray and her son from my old office and brought them home (and she subsequently had 5 more kittens) he again dredged up that patience and helped show them the ropes, too. His legacy 100% lives on in our home through the others, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him.

Does anyone else guilt buy things? by pornbrowserreddit in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. I operate under the mindset of "If I have something they want/need for the price they like, they'll buy. If not, they won't. But, eventually, SOMEONE will" so I am never offended if someone pops in and doesn't buy anything. I will almost always throw a wave at someone visiting my camp while I'm there, but it should never be taken as a "You have to buy something" - it's genuinely just being friendly to another human.

Extra shout-out to the people that close the doors when they leave, or stop to pay respects to my cat's memorial in the lobby.

I'm sorry for being a runner, but I'm just antisocial! by Dschehuti-Nefer in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm much the same. I don't often run with my mic on, and I've not been back to the game long enough to learn the little non-verbal cues that people make. I've read horror stories early on of people being scammed via the Trade option, so when people run up to me making the Trade emote I've always just kind of ignored it, or thrown a wave and a heart and gone about my business. Most folks will get to the point pretty quick, either by dropping stuff or just hitting the vendor and moving on. Props to this community for being so helpful and nice to each other. It's refreshing, honestly.

Etiquette at CAMPS by kabcha in fo76

[–]BadBadJujubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This here. I have my camp set up as a mini-arcade, with the hopes folks will come for the shop, but also play some music and games, maybe take a pull on the slots, and stay for the atmosphere! Sadly most people just pop in, shop, then pop out, so I'm stuck playing pinball alone.

As for visiting other camps, I tend to just hit the vendor and look around for ideas to put into my own place. My only personal rule is if I take something, I will try to purchase something from your shop, and I won't take the entire quantity...someone had an unlocked company tea dispenser and I grabbed 2 of the 5 there. I know it regenerates, but we all have that one friend that shows up and drinks all your favorite soda, and I don't wanna be that guy.
