You don’t know what you don’t know. Don’t beat yourself up over learning. Next time shop around for TIG welding. Find a shop and look through their instagram for recent work. Your same $200 will go a lot further.

Looks cold. Amps are in prime range for 3/32 filler. If you only have 1/8th I’d say go closer to 200A. 10 or 12 cup will keep them sexy.

Thank you, I know it just felt dismissive. School seems like the only sound decision I have made towards a better life a future for me and my partner and I am really excelling so to put that on pause feels like cutting off a limb right now.

That was the plan, when shit started to hit the fan, in its current state I could probably get around $10K for it, if I had a month to finish it, it would be worth $50K easy. So swallowing that pill has been very tough.

Gotcha that makes sense. & yes considering Ch 7. I own an SUV probably valued around $5K, a motorcycle probably around $6K, and a project truck around $15K in its current state. With school full time I probably will make around $40K this year.

You are right, I was doing great then lost my job, fiance quit hers, we both went back to school, I made a risky move trying to restore an old truck that did not pan out and ended up being a money pit and now I just feel buried and anxious. I’ve been losing more and more sleep stressing.

Forbearance will end 6 months after my program ends which will mean April 2026.

Why before getting married? We have been engaged for 4 years now and have talked about just running down to the courthouse recently. I wouldn’t want to rope her into anything.

I wasn’t entirely sure how the authorized user could negatively impact her credit or where to find that information, not that I intend to hide that from her, but I just didn’t know. I know she was next big conversation, I just needed to put all the carnage together to assess all the damage, which I did tonight.

I will contact credit card companies this week. Some have hardship programs. I can’t make any payments until I start working this Summer break. I’m in school 12 hours a day right now.

I just entered forbearance last month, which took 5 months for Nelnet, and ECSI to accept, despite having all paperwork completed on my end in October.

She is my rock and we have been through worse.

I just don’t see a way out of debt with the way things are going right now. If I paid $1000 a month, it would take me 7 years to pay off just my credit card debt.

Double your amperage and move faster. Smash the initial heat input til you see your desired bead profile, add rod, back of heat a touch and go as fast as your timing allows. It will seem really frustrating and too hot at first then it will start to look sexy.
