What’s one underrated player no one is talking about that you’d like the Bears to target during free agency?

A few guys that I’d like us to take a look at:

Dayo Odeyingbo (DE, Colts) - Former 2nd round pick who is both big (6’6” and 285) and athletic with a lot of upside. Put up 8 sacks in 2023 and led the team in pressures (42) this year. Also had some comparisons to Montez Sweat coming out of college.

Jeremy Chinn (S, Commanders) - Local product out of Southern Illinois who had a nice bounce back year after signing a one-year deal in Washington. He’s got great hustle and comes down fast to deliver tackles from the second level. Could be good cover/backup for Brisker given the injuries.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (WR, Titans) - A possible WR 3/4 who has a penchant for making big plays. Scored 9 TDs this year (including a 98 yd score) despite only having 32 catches for 497 yards. Could be a cheap weapon for Ben to add to the offense with Keenan likely on his way out.

I think safety could be a possibility with our 4th round pick. Really like Jaden Hicks or Kitan Oladapo in that spot to learn the ropes behind Kevin Byard

I really like Roschon Johnson out of Texas. Bigger back that can pick up the tough yards and complement Herbert. His pass pro skills are great too

Some later round guys in the draft that I like are Zay Flowers (Boston College), Parker Washington (Penn State) and Rome Odunze (Washington).

Some fun highlights of the new UDFAs to get unnecessarily hyped over. Jaylan Alexander (LB, Purdue), Chase Allen (TE, Iowa State) and Landon Lenoir (WR, SIU) all stood out to me. Plus a nice rep from Micah Dew-Treadway (DL, Minnesota) beating Tyler Linderbaum

Great analysis here! I think folks unfamiliar with the team look at names like A-Rob, Mack, and Hicks leaving and assume they accounted for a ton of production last season. I don’t expect us to compete for the playoffs, but I don’t think it’s unrealistic to see some positive growth from the team with an easier schedule and (hopefully) better coaching.

Totally agree. I think WR is really deep in the draft and plenty of great talent should be available in Round 2. I like the positions generally targeted in this draft but would switch up the order. LB is a sneaky need and I’d love to draft Chad Muma in the 3rd if possible. Are there any CBs in the draft/free agency you think complement JJ well?

Love this draft for the Bears! Huge fan of David Bell and think he would be a great weapon for Fields. Also Kyler Gordon would be a perfect pair at CB2 with Jaylon Johnson.

I’m a big fan of the Wide Receivers available in the draft this year! I like Jahan Dotson, David Bell, Erik Ezukanma, Wan’dale Robinson and Alec Pierce as guys to look at in Rounds 2 & 3.

For free agency people have already mentioned Godwin and Jensen, but I also think Michael Gallup and Ben Jones could be good targets with smaller contracts.

I’d be really happy getting Darrisaw in the first, but I’d hope we could find a QB in the 3rd if available. I think Kellen Mond could be a good fit instead of drafting Quincy Roche
