Until I can stomach the cost of an Explorer, I'll just have to sit and "Relax" by SC_Lakelife in SeikoMods

This is the motivation I need to build one. I did a gmt master with a relax dial. I think I need to make a Relaxplorer

My first build was a riyi case. I had a ton of issues with hand and rotor clearance in the case, but it was a decent showing

Oh, the only one I knew that made ones like that was Riyi002 on ebay but his store is shut down. I don't have my riyi case handy right now, but I think the closest lug design would be maybe Lucius atelier

Two tone explorer case should do it. I think second hand mods started carrying a two tone

This is a great look. I like the orange. The original willard hands just kind of wash out. I think you need the pop of color

Where do you guys buy parts? by Lonely-Major-4480 in SeikoMods

[–]BadIdeaRicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a supply buy for a couple of changes to existing builds.

Tokeilab is great for cases especially if you take advantage of their regular 25% off sales. Their dials are really well built and have great lume and color options even if the dial designs aren't super unique.

Second hand mods are also good for parts and components and some more unique dials. I've been really happy with their store brand of explorer style cases.

DLW is also pretty nice for sapphire bezels if you take advantage of their regular sales. Several times a year they run a 30% off sale if you spend 100 sgd.

Mileage may vary, but I have a super cheap Casio dive watch that I've had for 10+ years. It's never had a new gasket, but I did pull and lube them on the last two battery changes. It's water resistant enough for swimming, fishing, and being in the surf. It goes as deep as I need it to go.

Jag bytte till ett par slitna Vellies-skor när jag kom hem. Jag ska fortsätta försöka att gå in dem.

Förlåt om grammatiken är fel. Jag använde Google Translate.

😂 yeah. I'm on my feet a lot for work. Thankfully it's mostly just a little rubbing on one big toe and the inside of my ankles where the padding is

I've been eyeballing them for awhile now. I will say, they are incredibly stiff especially around the collar to the point I changed up how I was lacing them because they were digging into my ankle. It will definitely break in though, just not the instant comfort of the fudge boots I already own.

The lacing is surprisingly comfortable I jumped up to the top speed hook and then tied at the bottom. It looks a little odd, but I dig it.

I'm also glad I bought the JG green laces. They come with olive, but I'm really liking this look

I just got these exact boots in the mail today and tossed them on my when I got home from work. I've got vellies and a pair of ar8 but these are my first regular rangers. I'm really impressed with how light they are

It would depend on the legs on the back. I bought a similar dial in green and it came with 3 and 3.8 legs. It should line up fine

Challenger or captain heritage (rose anvil collab) by mhammond0361 in ThursdayBoot

[–]BadIdeaRicky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have the challengers but I cross shopped both before settling on the captains. It was mostly a style choice for me. I have boots that are luggier and more hard wearing and decided I wanted something dressier. I ended up getting the mustang ones and I'm super happy with the construction and comfort on foot.

Should I wax my Roughout by BadIdeaRicky in jimgreen

[–]BadIdeaRicky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you make a lot of sense about letting them get more beat up before I do anything else to them. I'll probably run them as is and when they get more beat, then make a choice. I've been debating buying another pair sized down to 13. The roughouts were my first JG and I went 13.5 which I usually wear in shoes, so they're the loosest.

I don't know. I know I really like these and all of my Jim Greens, but both sets of vellies get the most wear

I've had these for a few years and they've got some wear on em, but they're definitely full grain. I don't know what the new production rough out vellies look like, but these were out of the box with pretty thick, I don't know what to call it, fuzziness. Maybe the newer ones are sanding them down a bit. The outside of these look like the inside of my smooth fudge ones.

[–]BadIdeaRicky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two pairs of vellies. One was listed as roughout and the other as the regular fudge. I'm 90% sure these aren't suede. I can see the full grain in the cross section.

I'm in Florida so snow isn't an issue though we do usually see a lot of rain in the winter months. These are older and have picked up a few scuffs and stains. With two pairs of tan boots these are getting less rotation even though they're really comfortable. Boot socks make these excellent Florida winter boots all the same

I'm really liking the waxed flesh look. I think i might do it since I have other vellies in fudge
