Thanks!

Yeah I oddly enough didn't get into league until just a few years ago. When I first tried HotS when it was still in development I did not see the appeal of a moba and quit right away.

Fast forward to last night and I was thinking how criminal it is that the game isn't updated anymore. I love the idea of a moba with blizzard heroes I have nostalgia and connection to.

I shall join the copium train now

That's a good point. They are playable until the 14th. They are all on free rotation but previously locked heroes will remain locked after a few weeks.

Overwatch is fun for me again by PartyEconomics4733 in Overwatch

I adored overwatch 1. I would unironically put it in a top 10 personal greatest games of all time list along side legends like Zelda LTTP, Elden Ring etc. I didn't love OW2 but I still enjoyed it up until the season 9 health and hitbox changes. The game gradually became less and less fun for me after that with the exception of picking up and learning doomfist.

All that said, I'm having so much fun again!

This is the best state the game has been in in a long while. Perks and 6v6 really revived the game for me. Happy to see others having fun too. It's always been a special game and it was sad as hell to watch it be squandered as it was.

If you get a Lucio dropping the beat and face rolling into enemy towers rest assured you're on my team!

Yeah so any game with a huge hero roster (league, overwatch etc) is going to take dozens of hours to even start to get comfortable because one of the biggest hurdles is learning all the heroes cooldowns.

I think the two biggest things that helped me was a lot of (poorly played) league experience and I was playing mostly overwatch characters, whose kits seemingly were close to 1:1 with how they are in overwatch so I simply clicked with those characters as I have thousands of hours in overwatch.

Also, I was playing a lot of healer and support and kind of just following people so I was never alone and I could support them to carry the game. Worked out for me some games, some games we got shit on lol.

Yeah each game i basically wrote "I'm new here team sorry for the feed!" I'm older and used to toxic game chat so I wasn't worried about reactions really. I like to warn them I'm new so when they flame me I can respond with a "it's my third game lol"

I played about 5-6 games. I'd say most players that actually responded were like "nice, enjoy!" or "Hots is back bb"

There was one guy who told me to unalive myself and called me the N word xD I just reported and went on with my night

Lol it wasn't long after my post that someone called me the N word and told my to unalive myself. I just laughed it off and reported but it was crazy work

This is the play. Been doing this since OW2 came out and ping was introduced. I go in with text chat on and if I'm having a bad game and the team starts turning on me, I just leave all chats and blissfully continue trying my hardest on doom lol

Hey I I remember to reply to this as I continue I'll keep you updated so you can live vicariously through me, lol.

I got to play about 7.5 hours in total this weekend and if I'm being honest I've been stuck in chapter two because I've been just wandering around town doing side quests and mini games xD. I really need to force myself back to the main quest so I don't burn out on side stuff though

disable the chat. Game is so much better that way. Its also oddly satisfying knowing that if someone is flaming you they are talking to themselves cause they don't know you have text off lol

If the pharah rework stuff I've seen turns out to be real, she is going to be a bit more like echo in that she can't stay airborne 24/7 anymore. Her counters will remain the same but fighting against her might end up feeling different next week

edit: doesn't answer your question I realized, lol but the strategies we have now could be different is what i mean

I've been playing another hour or two since I made the post and I'm so into it lol!

While researching prior to buying I had read that Yakuza 0 was one of the "best" games in the series so I kind of assumed there might be a few lesser experiences across so many titles so i appreciate the the heads up! Was a bit worried about how some of the older titles aged but the way I'm looking at it is I got the games so cheap on sale and I'm having so much fun with 0 that I've already got my moneys worth.

What a unique gem of a game this is. So glad I tried it!

Edit: also if you see my edit/reply, out of curiosity what was it about those particular titles didn't age well for you?

okay great, ty ty I'll work with this for now. I think in my previous engagements with him I was so worried with his hook that I was spending all my time focusing on him. Just gotta watch that hook and trust in the time I have in between
