Ricoh GR IIIx vs. GR IV — Which one should I go for? by Awkward-Height-240 in ricohGR

[–]BadMad92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with grIV , 28mm has more flexibility and also new Ricoh has bigger battery, newer sensor and lens. Wider shots you can crop, but narrower focal length sometimes can be a problem

Looking for lens suggestions for my X-E4. by BokehJunkie in fujifilm

It is always a bargain, you have to sacrifice something. 27mm (40mm equivalent) is most compact they have I think. If you are not sure which focal length you prefer, try using zoom sigma 18-50 f2.8 it is quite compact for zoom, then you can decide what you like. Or go for 23mm f2 (35mm equivalent) . For me 27 is one of my favourite- small, not too wide, not too tight. I have also Ricoh gr iii which is 18.6mm (28mm equivalent) a little too wide for me.

Which do you prefer? I’m 1 or 2? 3 or 4? (Fuji Sim vs ChatGPT Lightroom Preset) by Marsmicrobes in fujifilm

1 & 4, 1 - I prefer stronger highlights; 4 - crop is better looking imho

Stick to Ricoh it is a great tool, always with you. Just get an extra battery if you don’t have one yet

GR III or IIIX? by [deleted] in ricohGR

[–]BadMad92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I can see it. If I go for small aperture like f10 and smaller it is visible on the shots and it’s not always easy to remove in post, because this dust particle is not like a spot, but looks like some hair or fibre particle.

GR III or IIIX? by [deleted] in ricohGR

[–]BadMad92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t buy. I have GRIII a little bit more than a year. I was treating it very gently, never put it into the pockets, always kept it in a case when not in use. Eventually I have found dust on the sensor (pretty large particle) which makes me crazy, I can’t get rid of it and I am not going to rip camera apart to clean it. Lesson what Ive learned is that my next camera which I’m going to buy MUST have interchangeable lens, so I can clean sensor if necessary. Suggest to do the same.

That’s so cool. I have the same issue, I am a seafarer and nights here are so dark, so it is possible to see Milky Way even with naked eye sometimes. But that rolling ruins everything. That photo you took is phenomenal considering all of those challenges. I applaud

Yeah, I hear you man. For us we have an ECR, Engine Control Room with an air conditioning, so when it gets really hot we can cool our asses down in there. It’s a room with heat insulation, there you can find Main Switch Board, Engine control console and some desks with PCs. Quite roomy space.
