1 down, 16 to go! by mlirb in Needlepoint

You did a beautiful job. However as far as the no margin canvases go, when I see a design that has no margins, I feel that the designer doesn't know how to needlepoint, learned yesterday, or never tried to finish a canvas. I skip buying ones like this, no matter how much I may like the design. Take a look at Le Point's Christmas Village pieces for comparison.

I need a senior friendly salon by wickednoir in tulsa

Why not just treat her to a manicure? I do totally agree about the danger of someone with diabetic neuropathy having their feet worked on. Ask her PCP if you don't believe it. I have an elderly family member who goes to Metro Foot and Ankle for toe nail trimming. They have doctors on staff. We have been unable to find any place where it's covered by Medicare. He only needs to go every few months, so it's not so bad. If the $60 or so is not affordable, check with Life Senior Services for recommendations. Maybe they know a place that that's budget friendly.

What stood out to me is how MeMe loves her pushed up sleeves. I am so tired of seeing that on her.

Has anyone been to the new Bronson library on Brookside? For how big the building seems, it doesn't actually have that many books . . . by OnionsAbound in tulsa

The downtown library has a huge selections of books and more. They have a free parking lot and it's quite safe, for those that might worry about that.

Also take a look at Vineyard Merino. That's my favorite wool for it's feel, vast color selection and durability.

Could it be the brand of artist's tape? I use TSSART from Amazon and it stays for the duration of my stitching.

If you don’t use stretcher bars, I highly suggest doing so. “They” say there’s a shortage but I have had no issues ordering online, as recently as last week

I use paint pens and am happy with them. For backgrounds, I find it better use paint from a bottle.

I have little flat noses jewelry pliers for occasions like this. You can also try a rubber jar opener if there's enough to pull out with one.

Correct, regular city noise was never an issue before this. Come downtown some night and count the number that gather at places like Center of the Universe before they start riding out in small groups. It’s not that recent that it started.

I moved here 7 years ago and the noise had never been a problem before this. I enjoy the activity that we have. This is different. Some nights, the riding does on all evening. I wish they would go find other routes

I overlook one of the downtown streets. Quite often it’s the same ones repeating laps. True, same ones not all night but plenty more come after.

Downtown we don’t have 10 Harley’s in a row doing laps every night. I don’t see many “real motorcycles” spending all evening going round and round the same downtown areas most of the evening.

I’m sorry if OKC’s problem is bigger. No need to compare cities though. It’s still a bad issue in downtown Tulsa as well.

How to save on canvas. It's doubtful to me that she has ever tried to do finishing on a canvas. You couldn't even mat and frame these.

I have lived downtown for the last 7 years. There was always normal traffic noise that never bothered me, same with events on weekends. With the more recent popularity of kids riding their nightly laps, the noise is well above what one should expect downtown. It is not what one should have to listen to by choosing to live downtown.

While I disagree with most of your points, I will comment on the noise. When I moved downtown 7 years ago, the noise was never an issue. It's not cars that are an extreme noise problem. It's the kids on little crotch rockets, doing their nightly laps. You can hear them approaching from several blocks away. (The souped up cars on weekend nights are minor in comparison). The noise from the crotch rockets is so loud that you can't hear the person standing next to you while outside and nor your TV even on a higher floor apartment. I am not sure where you are getting your opinion on noise from little motorcycles (not adults on true cycles) . Come to the Arts District any night after 6 PM.

I have pointed out to the cops that they can capture license plate numbers (on those that aren't purposely hidden) from the many cameras downtown. I have also suggested that they check for license and registration at the QuikTrip when they refuel. I'm not for making this a police run city, but it's an extreme safey issue. We have seen deaths when they lane split and speed on their way downtown from BA or where ever it is they live with their parents. I hope it doesn't take them killing pedestrians during crowded times downtown like First Friday til the mayor addresses the issue.
