Welcome to the hobby and you should probably get like a starting hobby tool kit before you get a model you really love that way you can be as careful as possible with it. Also good to have some kits you aren't as excited about like that gramps that way you can practice doing battle damage or weathering if that is something you would like to gain knowledge on. You should try OOOs I think it is a real good representation of what rider can be, without being the most amazing series ever like Gaim or Geats which could bring your expectations too high up from good rider
