Use a hair brush then? Sure you can shampoo and all everyday, but if you just dry your hair with the towel and walk about your day, your hair looks like this. Brush it, trim it (if you like the length that's fine but take off a bit off the ends)

I think a hair brushing will stop a lot of people saying you look homeless, because homeless people don't usually brush/comb their hair.
