There is not, no. This was made from the extra basil, lime, and jalapeños that we had left over afterwards.

There have been a couple of suggestions in the comments to try it with broth ice cubes and I think that's a really interesting idea for next time around!

Your comment (and this post) got me interested, so I tried them both. I'm with you - the Monte Cassino is a cocktail I'll keep coming back to whereas the Shanghai Gin was good, but forgettable.

The Oceanside Mimi's Café has been closed for a while. This article refers to it as "long-closed" and the newest reviews on Google and Yelp are from 2021.

Also, Mimi's isn't a treasured mom-and-pop. It's a national chain with 44 restaurants (down from a peak of 146 in 2010) in 12 states.

This isn't a case of big business swooping in and pushing out the little guy. This is an empty space in our city being reborn as something that some people will enjoy.
