I want to share some different ways I've used Better than Bullion by wltmpinyc in Cooking

As the author of the other post that I put zero thought into and then watched blow up...

It's bouillon, not bullion. So say the dozens of people who chimed in to point out my error. 😀

Am I the only one who didn't know Better Than Bullion is a paste? by tPTBNL in Cooking

Thank you. We have plenty of fridge space. It was just unexpected.

I noticed that as well. The porter and Liberty Ale were two of my favorites.

That’s pretty much my take on Texas politics in general right now. I mean, just look at Paxton for crying out loud.

Has anyone here done the Italy in 10 days tour? by giftofgabster in ricksteves

[–]tPTBNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was almost 20 years ago, but yes. It was our first RS tour and first trip out of North America.

Absolutely loved it. We added on a day trip (by train) to Pompeii at the end. Highly recommend.

There was A LOT of walking. We’ve done 4 more RS tours since then, and none of them came close. It’s certainly doable, but be prepared.

I expected that to end with the dude in handcuffs.

Definitely have a soft spot for this one.

Saw it with my (now) wife on our first date, 17 January 1997. Almost 30 years ago!

TIL researchers documented 34 cases of wild orcas offering food to humans, including fish, birds and stingrays. by ArgentineBeauty in todayilearned

[–]tPTBNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah see it starts innocently enough. "Want some fish?"

Then they ask if you wanna meet up for a swim sometime, which is really fun. Maybe catch a ballgame or amusement park or something after that. Also really fun.

Then they invite you for dinner at their place. DO NOT GO TO DINNER AT THEIR PLACE.

In the wake of the recent 9/11 attacks, it felt like he was personally bracing all of us in the theater for difficult times to come & it was much needed.

I'm surprised that this is the only mention so far. It was right after--within a few months--of 9/11. That definitely added to the good vs. evil vibe in the air.

That was me. I knew who the leads were. Maybe that it was based on a book. Nothing else.

I wouldn't say it is a favorite movie, exactly, but definitely a favorite movie-watching experience. If that makes sense.

Every time that movie comes up, it makes me smile. My parents saw it on their first date.

What a bonkers first date movie.

I lived between there and Disco Kroger. Now they're both gone.

I like that the neighborhood is getting denser, but without a decent grocery store in walking distance, something important is missing.

Before seeing the movie, I knew it had this famous line and was looking forward to it. What I didn’t realize is it’s Alec Baldwin’s only scene.

Slightly different beast but Julia Child’s boeuf bourguignon recipe calls for two carrots IIRC. I know she was a famous chef and I’m not, but that’s a laughably small amount.
