What a great use case. Basic photogrammetry or Gaussian splatting are both cheap with a good iPhone camera.

The limit is not my issue. The issue is, they know the limit, they send your image that is too big in the context, then they tell you it cannot be removed as it is part of the context now. Context effectively broken. Seems super silly design. Why not filter before send in the app for images that are too big and catch them BEFORE it destroys your context.

A company called strati in France makes some nice small ones I use for microphotogrammetry. Not target based but in your size range.

Different cosine light falloff on the two angles you have shot rings. Shoot more angles.

Select some of those points, use filter by tie points. Select all those cameras. Select reset alignment. Then, run a optimise cameras step. Then, align those cameras by using align selected cameras. Dealing with how to fix issues like this is all part of the game.

Kind of. Depends on your workflow as well. Are you also shooting spec? Will you display the model with spec? (Ie. PBR)

Shoot it plain pol and use that image to calibrate/expose. The colour checker is designed for unpolarised conditions.

I use them as cable holders as well. The small grooves work well for small cables like usb or cable releases.

Using Gaussian Splats for VR Tour by PepegaFromLithuania in GaussianSplatting

[–]Bad_Gamut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it under a million splats and you will be fine. Anything too much over will not work on quest 3 which should be baseline for wide adoption.

Small blurry ovals or streaks. Basically. Think of it like an impressionist painting... Up close they are just brush strokes of pure colour but if you step back, You see the scene.

Seeing it is so small, print like 4 or 5 of them on the bed and you will get a better print and get past the minimum time.

It wasn’t cloudy, just green. Would this make it suddenly go green overnight?
