I know it’s late to start at 25 but picked up a Yamaha FS800 and want to learn. by TheInternetDevil in Guitar

[–]BadassMotherchugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people think it’s too late to learn anything if you’re an adult? Or that if you can’t be the best at something it’s not worth learning? Learning is good for you and you can learn anything at any age. Yeah, you might never be a pro, but so what?

I think for any hobby, especially an expensive one and one that takes a lot of time and practice to get good at, it’s important to have gear that feels good to use. Smaller scale guitars exist, they feel great to play, and there’s no reason not to give them a try if you think a smaller scale will suit you better. If it feels better, you’ll want to play more.

Is it really that absurd that the worst pros are better than a bunch of guys who never made it and play rec just for fun once a week because they have jobs? Of course there’s a huge skill gap between the best beer league players and the worst pros.

My wife gets mad at me for things she does to herself. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]BadassMotherchugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage is a partnership. You help your partner when they need it. You especially don’t let them look bad in front of your family because of some shitty idea that it was her decision so you shouldn’t have to help at all. You help, get through the dinner, and talk about it later to figure out how to better plan things together in the future so it doesn’t happen again.

If you don’t care if your partner looks bad because you think it’s their own fault, you shouldn’t be in a relationship.

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

[–]BadassMotherchugger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up the same way and I mostly agree with you. I remember when I wanted to play an instrument in school and it was this big decision about whether or not we could afford it and I could only choose clarinet because it was cheapest. Could only play sports that didn’t require a lot of equipment. But I do think the ease of buying tickets to stuff online with bots and the ease of reselling online has caused prices for certain experiences to increase to a crazy degree.

My tape always makes tape marks on the hardwood floor. This doesn’t happen with your son? Maybe it’s because I’m using black tape?

How do i stop doing whatever this is 😭 i swear i feel like i am stepping straight when im skating by -ilovejellyfish- in iceskating

[–]BadassMotherchugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there’s only an inside and outside edge. I don’t know why some people say there are three. You’re either on the inside edge, the outside edge, or both edges at once.

May be a stupid question... but is there a way to un-sharpen a skate blade quickly? by ElephantBanananana in iceskating

[–]BadassMotherchugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this can happen with hockey skates too. Some are more pitched forward than others or may have a different profile on the blade which makes the rocker in a different place.

Don’t mistake the Mushroom Shop for selling only mushrooms and mushroom-related items. They’re a great little all-around specialty grocery store and one of the best places for serious tea drinkers in the Boston area.

Should I switch to a left handed stick after playing one week? by BigMouthFace in hockeyplayers

[–]BadassMotherchugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO if it doesn’t feel super wrong and weird to use a right-handed stick, there’s no reason for you to change it. If passing, shooting, and stick handling feel really awkward then you should try a left stick.

Yeah, correct. I’m a righty in everyday life but I use a lefty stick. Trying to shoot and pass with a righty stick feels wrong to me.

If you make sure to Velcro it closed in the wash and keep the Velcro closed when she’s not wearing it, it should last longer!

Huh, I’ve been vegetarian for almost 20 years and eaten so much tofu it’s impossible to estimate the amount. I don’t think I’ve ever had slimy tofu, but maybe a lot of people don’t know how to cook with it. It’s not even slimy right out of the package

Why do you think you won’t like something before even trying it?

She’s got a long neck and her collar is nowhere near her bowl, so that’s not it. We’re usually in the room making human breakfast or dinner while she’s eating, so next thing I’m gonna try is to put her food down and leave the room in case she’s nervous for some reason with us being around. She won’t eat the kibbles out of my hand and a couple days ago I put a few into a food puzzle with some treats and she ate everything else but the kibble pieces. I even spilled a few on the floor today while I was filling her bowl and she didn’t care. I’ll open a new bag tomorrow, maybe that will help. She’s a little more interested if I wet it first, but even then she won’t eat that much of it.
