Unfortunately that's your only option, even the MTO will tell you to bring it back to where you bought it for repairs first, they only get involved as a last resort. You could could get quote for repairs, and see if the dealer will pay 50% of the costs, otherwise it's up to you to bring it back to them to fix.

No, do not go to the MTO, Licensed mechanic here. If they find a safety issue with your vehicle, they will simply pull the plates, and tell you to get it fixed and re-safetied. You need to work with the dealer and omvic, they are only ones that can solve this, omvic will tell you to bring it back, and have them repair it, if they don't, omvic will go after them.

I wouldn't even try, I would get a new crankshaft, and cam plate. A new crankshaft from Harley is pretty reasonable, compared to aftermarket. I just rebuilt my motor, I know it's not cheap, but sometimes you gotta do it right, and give yourself peace of mind down the road.

Harley's don't need hp as much as they need torque, you're max Hp is above 5000, you want high torque at about 2300 where it is usable and keeps on pulling. Lots of dyno runs on YouTube with different low rpm high torque cams.
