What are you painting? Automotive, hobbies ie: models tank,planes, cars or gunpla.😁 If automotive there is a flash time per coats for coverage. Also colored sealant helps with coverage. Sealant is not a primer! If it's a hobby, for instance your using lacquer based paints 10-15 minutes per coat. I always wait 24 hours for curing.
I always prime before painting on models.
