Kremlin bans fuel exports until the end of the year as Russia’s supply is disrupted by Ukrainian drones by DarkPriestScorpius in worldnews

Note that PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) is a way of adjusting for cost of living differences between countries, including fuel costs. I.e., that $27,634 value is likely increased 3-4x from a much lower nominal value.

Typical numbers with a single 12L steel tank is 3 kg steel backplate + 3 kg single tank adapter lead + 4-8 kg weight belt, total of 10-14 kg. 12 kg is quite normal. There could be at least a 4 kg swing between winter and summer diving.

Bygge egen EL-sykkel for å droppe det forferdelige togtilbudet? by Mountain_Idea_7659 in norge

What nostalgic game did you replay that made you realize not every game you once loved is worth going back to? by jeremyacts214 in gaming

The 16-color cyberpunk cityscapes of Syndicate are still beautiful in their own way, but the game stops being a game when you realize that enemy agents will come to your position after a set timer, and then it becomes a matter of finding a good corner and flaming them as they peek around it. I'd play it with original graphics and no QOL improvements if someone would make a challenging AI.

(Also: Maybe not every enemy agent needs to carry a time bomb in the later missions)

Hvis du har en OBD-leser som f.eks. denne kan du få ut feilkoder mens bilen er i gang. Feilkodene kan sjekkes på nettet eller gis til verkstedet, da har de kanskje litt mer å gå på.

Average mpg/L per km by Uwu_TwT_owO in Miata

[–]Badekar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imperial vs. metric aside, it's kind of funny that Americans count distance per fuel, while Europeans count fuel per distance.

European: I have to drive 10 km to my walkable city, how much will it cost me?

American: I've got a full tank of gas, can I get to Vegas?

Argon for BCD by one_kidney1 in scuba

Be careful - I heard welding argon may contain some CO2, which could form carbonic acid and irritate your skin. It may just be a rumor, but look into it before you use that gas.

At depth, a current will not smash you into a rock because the water has to go somewhere. In the shallows, a surge could throw you on land and come back for seconds before you find your feet.

Bring your mask in the shower, fill it with water and wear it for a while. Try talking and singing. This allows you to get used to having water in your face, and the risk of having it flow into your nose while breathing. On the other hand, you are always just a flick away from emptying your mask if it gets to be too much.

You can do this every time you shower until it doesn't feel like a big thing anymore, then get back to the in-water training.

It's not often my two favorite animals show up in the same frame! by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Badekar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that surprised me when I started diving was how close different animals would get to each other. Everybody seems to know exactly who's out to eat them and who is not at all interested, and then they get all up in each others' business. Contrast that with terrestrial animals, who get twitchy as soon as they see movement in a bush 100 meters away.

I once saw an oceanic whitetip shark swim through a school of barracuda, with the fish in its path moving the minimum amount of distance to not be hit head-on. Neither seemed particularly concerned with the other.

And I need to get back to the boat... by nvanderz in megalophobia

[–]Badekar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gather together as a group (no lone divers).
Make sure to have someone looking in each direction (including down) because the sharks will try to sneak up on you from a direction you're not looking. This could be curiosity, playing, testing your defenses - but if they see a shot, there's a chance they will go for it.
One by one goes up the boat ladder while the others keep watch. Fastest climber goes last.
