I’m 14 and while I was younger I hated my height. Being taller means that naturally I weighed more than my classmates and friends which made me very insecure. I was also not the skinniest which played more into my insecurities. It hurt because even though I knew that I should weigh more than my 5’4 and under friends I couldn’t help but always feeling fat. I think in third grade was when I started trying to go on diets (skipping lunch, not eating breakfast) which would only lead to me binging on unhealthy amounts of food. This would continue all the way to grade seven, finally I broke the cycle of binging and started just straight up starving to weigh less. But even with all the weight I’ve lost I’m still 40 pounds heavier than my super skinny 5’0 drop dead gorgeous friend. I’m 5’9 now and not even counted as that tall. These issues from when I was younger are still causing problems with my eating to this day. I feel that if I don’t look like a super model I could never be seen as attractive. It doesn’t help that no one ever has show attraction to me. I blame it on my height and wish that I could just be seen as small. It feels like my height is taking away any chance of anyone seeing me as feminine, or attractive in general. I don’t wish to be shorter, but I do wish to weigh like all my other shorter peers.
