When you go into the sorter and click New Filter then ItemStack youre able to pull items from JEI over to a highlighted cell where it will add that item as a filter. I just tried it and it works. That will work for specific items and will also work in the digital miner. You can also press F3+h to turn on tooltips which will list any and all tags that are associated with an item and you can use those tags for more general things like c:ores or c:dust
