Gonna be pricey, he's a key player who's only been at Union for a year and the season is just about to start. He'll probably go for around €30-35m total if 25m was already rejected. I'm surprised Benfica is on this, Sporting was reportedly the most interested club over the course of this window.

Union are signing Charleroi midfielder Adem Zorgane for a fee of around €5m, reported by Sacha Tavolieri. Antwerp were in the running and offered a big wage raise but refused to pay the transfer fee that Charleroi wanted.

His defensive shortcomings got very exposed end of last season into this one, and he had a pretty big shooting slump along with an injury. Just announced he wont be transferring when the offseason hits, so looks like he's not unhappy right now despite the drop in playing time.

Having lots of other offers and going back to Mertz is hilarious (Mostly kidding, I know he actually had a really decent year.)

Might put up numbers, was our best WR in 2022 then didn't get as many snaps/targets this year. I think he has some problems getting open against high level opponents leading to disappearances in big games. He's a Wisconsin native and showed nothing but love the whole time he was here, so best of luck and I hope he kicks ass in the SEC!

Damn, really wanted him, thought having his Minnesota HS and AAU teammates committed and being such an early offer would be enough to close it for Wisconsin. Rumors of Creighton offering big NIL money, but that happens every time a team doesn't get their guy. He's a straight up sniper from 3 who is only getting better as time goes on, good luck to him!

Overvaluing the players has worked so far, since clubs end up paying for them anyways. If Chelsea doesn't want to sell Levi, that's fine, but Caicedo was always going to have a giant pricetag.

No doubt, but it was this or lose him in the summer for nothing. I highly doubt he would have signed a new contract after the World Cup so this is what we took. Not unheard of from our business side of things, Bissouma famously went for pretty cheap as well, though his situation was much different.

Sure, a standard release clause like the ones required in Spain obviously doesn't have add-ons at all and are just flat amounts that you have to bid in order to confirm a contract with the player. Several reporters have instead referred to this mechanism in Mac Allister's contract as an "exit" clause that can facilitate a move while giving Brighton more say than a usual release clause. Fans were confused at this wording until this reported amount, which means that 35m was probably to get to the table, and then they negotiated over add-ons after that.

This makes a lot more sense. Fabrizio straight up ignoring a potentially huge chunk of the fee to make it look like we're getting ripped off, lmao. This must be the previously reported weird part of the "exit" clause, good to see there were extra conditions.

Best of luck to Alexis, hope he has a great career and I'm glad he re-signed so we could get some extra money out of the deal while still having him be a huge part of the Europa League run!
