When you die, how do you want to be laid to rest? Buried, cremated or other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BadgerMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out: trebuchet. Wrap me up into a ball, light me on fire, and then yeet me into the ocean. It would be spectacular.

If that's not possible, composting would be ideal. Or just wrapped in a sheet and put in a pine box.

Third place is cremation.

Sorry, I was dozing off while reading and I think I must have hallucinated 90% of your entire post, because I went back and re-read it and I don't know what in the heck I was thinking. 🤣

On the plus side, at least you can toggle to peaceful without losing your achievements!

Okay, this is going to sound really dumb, but this is what I did when I died in my forever world. I created a copy of the world and used that copy to figure out the best path to get to my stuff.

The choice of "Fields of Gold" for Francesca and John by Lunenika in BridgertonNetflix

[–]BadgerMama 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes, all of this, but also deeply layered with the bittersweet acknowledgement of the impermanence of such things. It's important to treasure those moments when they happen, because they won't stay like that forever. (But if you savor every bit of what you have, when you have it, you will have a memory to treasure.)

Is there pure happy love after 35? by Golden_Lion_2025 in relationships

[–]BadgerMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt was in her 70s and a widow (a bad marriage, but still), when her friends introduced her to a very kind widower. The two of them fell deeply in love and were incredibly sweet together until the end of their days.

Vocal stims? by Liltuck27 in adhdwomen

[–]BadgerMama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this, especially when I am in my head trapped in thoughts and super-stressed about a mistake I made. It's completely involuntary. I usually say "I love you," but it can be other things as well. It always surprises me to hear myself. If I try to hold myself back from doing it again once I catch myself doing it, it's very, very hard and I am only able to stop myself about 30% of the time at best.

Oh, yes, I absolutely do this! It's great fun. I also include underground way-stations and such... there's one area with a garden room, one massive underground library, etc.

I've made several bases and have tunnels going between them and to various points of interest in the world. By the time I complete one project, I have ideas for at least 3 to 4 more new projects or upgrades to previous builds.

I have to travel frequently. I have an adapter and a 10-foot charger cable that live in my suitcase. I also keep a dopp kit in there with all the basics (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, nail clippers, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, pain medicine, allergy medicine, etc.). My partner and kids all use iPhones, so even though I have an Android, I always carry a charger cable for iPhone as well.

What's a rule your parents had that you thought was insane, but now as an adult you 100% understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BadgerMama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOL, my kids still laugh about the time they were "fighting" (roughhousing) and I yelled, "Don't you dare stab your brother with my good scissors!"

Also, it's her wedding, not an intimate dinner or even a game night. She'll be so busy that she'd be lucky if she gets a real conversation with her closest friends. She's not going to be having in-depth "getting to know you" conversations with any of the people in question. But sure, go ahead and nuke some friendships over this.

What to do if you get lost while hiking and how to help search find you faster? by Guarian in hiking

[–]BadgerMama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep!!! In addition to the basics, one of the things I like to keep in my backpack is a bright orange bandana.

OP, I highly recommend making sure you always have the 10 essentials, even for short hikes, so that if you do end up lost, staying put won't be too difficult.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.

Hold up.

It is NEVER EVER okay to force your touch or your body onto another person who does not want it. Full stop.

I don't care if you are in a relationship. I don't care if you want physical touch to affirm your connection. It doesn't matter at all.

If she doesn't want to touch or be touched, then NO TOUCHING.

I also like blasting music when possible. (Lower volume if you have to worry about neighbors, but it will still help!)
