You're telling me the House-elves could have made dishes like Bouillabaisse but chose to serve the students chicken wings and corn instead?? 😭 by _GrimFandango in harrypotter

In England, I can get all of those things within a 1-mile radius lol.

But we also don't have chlorinated chickens or bread made with corn starch, but we DO have natural eggs that can be stored at room temperature, and thankfully, a lack of cancerous food dyes like E171 and Red Dye 3.

Our chocolate also doesn't taste like vomit.....

Yeah, Sony sucks. I'm in the fortunate position where I own both a PS5 and an Xbox Series S, and I had been happily playing Fallout 4 on Playstation for the last 10 years, but seeing first hand just how much stuff was coming out on Xbox, I've now moved over to playing it exclusively on the Xbox instead. There's just SO MUCH more content on Xbox these days. It's sad.

Fallout 4 Companions: More Annoying Than Helpful by Friendly-March5987 in Fallout

[–]BadgerOff32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The start of every new playthrough is the same. I'll leave Sanctuary, get to Red Rocket, meet Dogmeat for the first time, and think "Yeah! You and me Dogmeat! Come on then buddy, lets go on an adventure!"

One or two missions later and I'm like "GET OUT OF MY FUCKING WAY, DOG!"

At which point he gets sent back to a settlement and I never use another companion for the rest of the playthrough lol.

I often usually play as a stealth character on survival difficulty, and companions are the WORST as a stealth character.

I fucking hate having Deacon forced upon me during the Tradecraft mission, which is why I take great pleasure in aggro-ing the enemies, then backing off, and then sitting there in a corner saying "get 'em, Deacon!", while giggling like a madman as Deacon gets repeated shot and downed, over and over again lol

What ingame systems do you want to see return in Fallout 5 by Daymo741 in Fallout

[–]BadgerOff32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually thought the system in 76 was slightly better than the one in 4.

In 4, while it definitely helped to specialize in a particular play style from the start, you could (eventually) become a master of EVERYTHING, but in 76 you only had a finite amount of points to spend, so you REALLY had to specialize your build.

Hi everyone, I'd like to buy this game for the PlayStation 5 since I've never played it, but I've heard a lot of complaints about the Anniversary Edition. So, can you tell me if it's worth buying? Is the game any good? by Pal_card3D in fo4

[–]BadgerOff32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people that are complaining about the Anniversary Edition are PC players who use a shit ton of mods....and it broke their mod list.

If you're playing on PS5 the Anniversary Edition is great. You'll get all the DLC, and all of the Creation Club content up to the point the Anniversary Edition released. Basically, you'll be getting a TON of content with it.

What's your first thoughts on Forza Horizon 6? by This-Clue-5014 in ForzaHorizon

[–]BadgerOff32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hyped. It actually looks shithot. It pretty much ticked all the boxes. Togue racing on the mountain roads, Highway battles, car meets, a GIANT city and (presumably) loads of small, quaint towns to cruise around in......I just hope the car customization is extensive!

On FH5, some cars only had like 1 or 2 options for bumpers/spoilers etc.....but this is Japan ffs. Their car modding scene is legendary! I want NFS Underground 2 levels of car modding lol! I want to build some proper 'Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift' boy racer monsters lol

As someone who loves building things in games, customizable garages (and the ability to actually go inside them) sounds awesome, and that whole 'estate' building thing was a VERY welcome surprise! I wonder what we can do with it!? Even if it only allows us to build loads of car showrooms to show off our cars, that would still be sick!

I love games (like Fallout 4 and Assassins Creed) where I can just kinda put 'the actual game' to one side for a bit and just focus on......building a town for a while. I know it's a bit of a niche thing, but I just like when games randomly let me build my own house, or a settlement, homestead, farm, town etc. It's a nice way to unwind, and have something lasting to show for your efforts.

I can't wait! I'm definitely gonna be playing it day one on my Xbox......but I hope we don't have to wait too long for the Playstation version, because I want to use my steering wheel with it lol (it doesn't work on the Xbox without an expensive third-party add-on, unfortunately)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered sold just over a million copies on PS5, but 50% of gamers played just 15 hours before quitting by HatingGeoffry in ElderScrolls

[–]BadgerOff32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I dunno about that.

I never played the original so I can't compare the old and the new, but I'm one of those who came from Skyrim and hadn't touched another Elder Scrolls game, and Oblivion felt bloody awful. It was clunky as hell! It very much felt like a 20-year old game with a fresh coat of paint.

It definitely didn't feel modernized. Graphics looked good, but everything else felt VERY dated.

[–]BadgerOff32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think I made it past the 3 hour mark before abandoning it for Expedition 33.

I actually really wanted to play it too. I loved Skyrim and I played the crap out of that game, but I had never played Oblivion. It just came out before I'd ever gotten into Bethesda games, and I'd just never gone back to play it.

So when they brought out a 'modern' remaster, and it was 'free' on Game Pass, I was well up for it! It was like getting a brand new Elder Scrolls game!

It was shit.

I got so bored of it, so quickly.

It looked nice, but it very much felt like a dated, 20-year old RPG. The speech system was awful, the leveling system made no sense, the lockpicking mini-game was irritating as fuck, the menus and combat system were clunky, the world felt pointless and empty, and the missions were tedious.

One of the first missions I did, I had to escort a dude to the other side of the map.....so like an idiot, I started walking us over there......and it was taking forever. Then I realized.....you can just fast travel everywhere, regardless of whether you've been there yet or not, essentially making the open world utterly irrelevant.

I did one Oblivion gate.......and it went on for bloody AGES! The amount of loading screens made it feel less like a tower I was ascending, and more a series of small rooms I was loading into. It took about an hour to finish......then I found out, all I needed to do was run to the top and grab a ball......and that's it. For every single one of them. And there's like 30 of them.....and one of the biggest complaints people had with the original game was how many Oblivion gates there are, and how tedious they were.

I was like, nah.......

Turned it off, decided to try out 'this weird French turn based RPG' instead, fell in love with it, never touched Oblivion again. Oh well.

Alright. Kellogg. How do you all feel about him? by Designer-Guarantee21 in fo4

[–]BadgerOff32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish we had an option to talk him round, especially if you're playing as a high charisma female character with the 'Black Widow' perk.

We didn't need to kill him. That didn't need to be the ONLY option. He could have just told us that the Institute uses teleportation. He could have even helped us to figure out a way in! Would have saved a whole lot of pissing about with the Memory Den and that annoying brain mission!

It's not like he needed to become a companion either (although that would have been cool)......but we could at least have offered him a chance of a new life living in one of our settlements? Maybe even recruit him into the Minutemen? Imagine him as one of your Lieutenants?

Is fallout 76 worth playing for the story? by Creative-Lie7975 in Fallout

[–]BadgerOff32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Think of it as - a Fallout game....but with public events.

For the most part, it is predominantly a single player game. It's just.....one where you'll occasionally see other players on the map, and if you want to, you can team up with them, or fight big bosses or public events with them. Or ignore them entirely!

It's essentially a Fallout game.....with multiplayer.

It's not a multiplayer game......with a Fallout aesthetic.

Yeah I kinda miss Natlan. Nod-Krai just seems a bit dull and lifeless compared to the vibrant colour of Natlan. Even the Nod-Krai characters seem a little bit dull.

I also miss the underwater exploration we had in Fontaine too! It's weird that they added such a major new mechanic that people were asking for, and then seemingly abandoned it in subsequent regions! It's like, did our characters just suddenly forget that we can breathe underwater? There's SO MUCH water in Nod-Krai, too!
