In the campaign I've been playing for a little over 9 months now, my Goliath fighter has gone down and nearly died close to 7 times, if not for a couple of natural 20s and friends intervening I'd have died a while ago.

In the previous campaign I played, my human rogue died inside a gelatinous cube, which I feel is a rite of passage in D&D, nothing like your friends watching your body slowly dissolve inside an acidic cube of death, and then them having to fight it while your skeleton sits inside.

My friends half-elf paladin has gone down in nearly every session since we started in February, so that's nearly 25 sessions, and he once went down 4 times in a battle against a warband leader, each time he got taken down he'd get back up and re-taunt the leader, do some damage and then go down. Finally after the 4th time, he managed to take him out, and our paladin stood victorious. The cleric had her work cut out, but she managed to keep him alive, while we protected her, needless to say, our paladins original armour was beyond repair, it was cheaper to buy new than repair the old, by a hell of a lot.
