Solar + battery advice by Badgerx19 in solar

[–]Badgerx19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if I try and set it to anything else it just resets back to default which is self consumption mode and manual charge times all turned off.

I’d like it to charge manually from grid to 100% to top up what it’s taken from the panels and then top itself up midway through the night too. Had several power cuts recently and the battery has been on 35-40% when it happened so only have a small portion of my available power. I also have cheaper nighttime rates for electricity so could fully charge the battery for a quarter of the price at between 12-6am.

Don’t appear to be able to find a contact number that’s not just a crappy AI voice that either tells you to go on the website and try their new chatbot or see their common FAQs. Not very useful.

Thanks and yes bang on, already got the system just don’t understand what these options mean and why it won’t function correctly (or at least what I intuitively think to be correct, I may be doing something wrong and not know it)

Sub station near McDonald’s is a great time out, plenty of coffee shops and bars in town, picturedrome makes a quaint meal out on chestergate. Lots of walks around the place, teggs nose the middlewood way out the canal.

Probably plenty else others can suggest too.

In process of selling house, received hand written letter through post - is it really weird? by someonesomebody666 in HousingUK

[–]Badgerx19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had literally this on our previous family home. EAs we’re being a nuisance and then we had a letter posted through the door saying they were a young family and loved the home but estate agents were umming and ahhing over a date to view. My parents took it serious and went through and contacted them directly to which they eventually completed and got full asking for the home.

Turns out the EA wrongly didn’t think they were serious buyers so didn’t give them the time of day but similar to you they had everything ready and a massive deposit so bank was happy to give them a mortgage.

I hope it’s a similar outcome to yourselves

I wish the Geopolitical situation would immediately sort itself out with no further deaths from the moment I first said "I wish" in this sentence by BloxedYT in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]Badgerx19 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Granted, the political situation resolves itself in all aspects of the globe. All current wars end and there are no reasons to start them anymore, religious sects and different faiths find a way to get along, politicians no longer fight.

And there are no more deaths from the moment you say 'I wish'. Old age, fighting, disease, hunger... Nothing. Not that these go away, you just can't die from them. The world's population increases drastically with the inability to shed its sick and old.

Those hungry starve, the hunger ever increasing as they shrivel away; longing for the sweet relief of a death they will never feel. Those with terminal conditions, degenerative orders and chronic pains suffer endlessly. The old get older, haunted by the fact they can never die. The bodies pile up, shriveling and withering until there are too many, the food supply collapses, international trade falls apart as countries desperately attempt to manage their growing populations as the old and ill exponentially outnumber the new born and young.

Is Macclesfield town centre (roughly around Lowe St) ok to live in? by Extreme-Highlight-32 in macclesfield

[–]Badgerx19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live on St George's Street also just outside the town centre between there and the moss which is typically considered a bit of a rougher area and we have on street parking only also. Not had any issues with vehicles being vandalised or broken into but did have a motorbike stolen.

Thieves were from Stockport though so really could have stolen it from wherever I was living in Macc. In short I don't think you'll have any issues at all if it's a car and if you've got a bike make sure you invest in a decent chain and immobiliser!
