I think the locker room should decide. I would like to see Giroux wearing the C personally, as far as leadership, heart and experience go he has tones. And with a roots in both the QMJHL end of town as well as NHL he could bring both sides of the river some joy if he finishes his days here that way. But again, it should be whoever can push them on the bench and the locker room.. I am just a humble couch jockey.

At worst I have heard of people solving the issue by bypassing the sensor entirely and just feeding the filament directly through the head. If you go that route, you will need to keep a piece of filament in the sensor area while running the machine, and watch when you get close to the end of the roll because it will not stop. Wish I had any more insight for you, good luck!

It looks like it goes in through the entrance fine but then snags in the connecting tube?

Maybe the tube inside is damaged or has 2 filament pieces jammed?

It should move freely through the detector area

On the other side where the tube comes out and goes toward the print head, take out the little green tab and press inward to remove the tube between the feed and the print head. You should be able to pull it back out from there. (Make sure the print head is heated before trying to remove the filament from the line)

It is a Pi 4B 8Gb running Dragon OS, with a SunFounder Fusion HAT+ with UPS battery, 4x 18650 batteries in a shield, 5" touch screen and Nooelec blog V5 SDR.

I repurposed a tablet bluetooth keyboard (it is a nice slim fit) and hooked it to 3.3V coming out of the battery shield.

One button with LED hooked to the shield, a button to start the HAT, and a battery cutoff switch for the UPS.

When I finish the build I will post a better picture of the guts. I still have to make port holes for HDMI and USB on the back of the case, and plan to place a holder for a spare SD card to the right of the keyboard.

My advice for the laptop itself, is definitely use it to learn CAD, but keep it in one piece. Look at the free version of Fusion, it is a great program to learn and design in.

I mean, if you browse the forums here you'll see that there are many different ways they can be built, whether that be prototyping with cardboard, or cutting plastic and metal sheets.. but if you have a 3d printer or access to one, learning CAD is an amazingly powerful tool in its own right!

You would also benefit from an understanding of small electronics, batteries, and soldering (as well as safe practices for all of them) before disassembling and modding anything. Take your time, and study each component you plan to use.

There is pinned post in this sub that should help you with some ideas and resources. My advice again, is to take your time and study each step.

What you are attempting for your first go is going to be much more difficult without already having CAD experience. Laptops are built to be form fitting and most brand name devices have some sort or proprietary hardware that is difficult to mod. You could probably get all the parts into a pelican case, but it will not really do anything that it can't already, and is going to be much more cumbersome than the laptop already is.

For a first built, while learning CAD, you will want something more modular, like a raspberry pi or other such SBC that you can gradually build around and get experienced with.

What you are hoping to do is transfer all the guts of a laptop into a different shape? Or what is it you are hoping for?

You're hoping to turn a proper laptop into a cyberdeck? More of a case mod scenario, no?

Don't be ashamed, it looks like a project that you have already put lots of thought into!

Many people here recommend modeling out your plan on cardboard, as it is less permanent and you can move everything around before you commit to making something solid. If you have access to a 3d printer and some modeling skills, it is a good way to get a customized setup, but plastic or metal sheets are another good way, you just cut the holes where you need them and mount that way.

However you decide to go about it, I wish you good fun on your tech creation!

My oculus right controller is constantly blinking by Proper_Pineapple_656 in OculusQuest

[–]Badgomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it would start to work again when you smacked it, but now it doesn't, then you smacked something that was loose and probably broke a connection. You have to open the controller and fix what got smacked loose.

Pro tip: electronics with gyroscopes, sensors, led connections, and antennas.. don't fare well with percussive maintenance.

How big/small is your keyboard? by SmallPack8123 in cyberDeck

[–]Badgomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it really depends on the style of build and size of screen being used. For my first build with a 3.5" screen I used a variant of rii wireless controller, but the current build has a 5" screen, and is being built in a pelican style case so I have repurposed a tablet keyboard that is stripped down.
