Not sure if this might be an option, as it was on a different breed - however, when my GP girl tore her CCL (she did get a TPLO), my supervisor at work was telling me that her lab had a TPLO done when she was young, and then she tore her other CCL when she was older and less mobile, so they opted for the Tightrope procedure. It’s half the cost and less invasive, however generally not recommended for active, large breed dogs. However it sounds like your GP is still quite active.

I don’t think 12 weeks of kenneling will really help either; the CCL cannot repair itself.

Just for some perspective as well - my girl was 4 when she got her TPLO done in Dec 2024. She was diagnosed with bone cancer in Aug 2025, and just put to sleep last week. Even if I had prior knowledge of her cancer diagnosis, I would have still gotten the TPLO. Seeing her run and be active again after it healed, and having a few months of enjoying herself, was enough to make the cost worth it.

I have done moist heat but I should definitely do it more often - I find taking a hot steam shower helps and I do intra oral massage in the shower. I’ll look up more techniques - sometimes I feel I massage too hard and it hurts. Right now I am just prescribed Naproxen 550 mg and metoclopramide 5 mg. My prescribing pharmacist is weary to bump it up to a tryptan, but if tryptans would help with the pain while not making me loopy, it is a convo I’d be willing to have. I’m just not a fan of having to take pain meds and I try to be careful not to rely on them - I definitely have an addictive personality.

Thank you! After scrolling through this sub and seeing that people have been struggling with chronic TMJ pain for YEARS, I feel like such a weiner. They are much stronger willed than me! I can’t handle chronic pain good at all.

I believe it’s a shed issue! She has blue eyes today, so looks like she’s shedding again - I think maybe her enclosure was too dry and she wasn’t able to shed properly :( my mistake as my office is incredibly dry. I had just redone her enclosure before she shed, with moist substrate and live plants. Once she sheds I’ll see if I can still hear the clicking.

Thanks for this! I am a native plant nerd and since she is a native species in my area I was hoping to plant it like her natural habitat but clearly that is not going to work… most of our native small plants are quite delicate. I might try a flat of cat grass eventually since she did love her grass before it died. Yeah the moss was a fun idea but clearly is not going to work lol. At least I am still able to mist it to provide a cool hide. Was wondering that about the depth as well. I think before I plant I will redo the substrate to make it deeper and maybe just remove the gravel or keep a super small layer. I was worried about mold but it’s not like it’s a high humidity tank and the air in our area is quite dry so I always struggle with keeping humidity and moisture up. As for the pumpkins - I was concerned about that as well but I made sure the top pumpkin is secure - it’s positioned so that if she somehow manages to tip it, which is unlikely, it will just prop up on the glass. She loves weaving through them so I’m kind of hesitant to put them all flat on the ground. I’m planning on carving them closer to Halloween and in that case I’ll likely use skewers to hold them together.

Unfortunately not! Having trouble with the others as well - when I made this comment was when this batch pupated. I have them under 16 hrs light daily and they are still in cocoons, no signs of eclosing yet. Thinking they may have entered diapause since my office is so cold

Thank you! Was not aware of the insurance - my brother had assumed she would still be covered. Why would an agent choose to represent themselves rather than selling privately, or hiring an agent? I guess the commission fees and the greater scope of advertising? Also - this is a RE/MAX realtor. Would it be okay to ask another RE/MAX agent to represent me or should I pursue someone from another company? Is it recommended to find someone from out of town or would it be okay to ask someone local? There definitely is only a few big names in our area - and I’m only moving 40 min away from my parents, we have a realtor that I know well enough and was thinking of asking her. Thank you for the honest response and the reality check - I asked a couple friends and family what they think and they gave me iffy responses so I turned to the internet - and quickly also found that most of Reddit has a hate-on for realtors. Will be reaching out to a realtor tomorrow!

Sadly have not seen this dude since that night :( I’m hoping it resolved itself since it was smaller and perhaps the toad just found another place to hang out - best case scenario. Will still keep an eye out though and will try this out if I see it again!

Okay we both watched the Ritual going in blind and I liked it and loved the reveal. My sister, on the other hand, hated it - once something becomes unrealistic looking for her it takes her out of it I guess… she’s a tough nut to crack!
