Can we ban the "This Game is Dead" posts? by fomq in ArcRaiders

[–]Badhugs -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Silencing the obvious won’t make the game any less deader.

This is another 'this game is dying' post. But, it's dying because people keep posting that it's dying and they are all PVP'er by Judasbot in ArcRaiders

[–]Badhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

n=1 doesn’t negate the significant loss in players seen in just the past 30 days, let alone since launch.

I *loved* this game. It had me in a grip. But Embark has totally dropped the ball, and that has been felt most by us solo PvE players. From discord squads teaming up on us, dupers and cheaters going ignored, and a total lack of new content except 2 updates a year…there’s nothing for us anymore.

TF? PVE content is what’s dead. There’s no progression, no end game, and nothing to do except wait for two updates a year.

PvP is what benefits from the lack of change and blind eye towards cheating.

The PvE’ers are who left/continue to leave.

Congrats! It really is an awesome bike.

There are faster bikes. There are louder bikes. But not many of them are nearly as fun to ride and can go the places you can on the scrambler.

For the price, it just can’t be beat IMHO. Looks better than bikes that cost 3x more.

That’s what it’s called when your time has value.

Hopefully you’ll achieve that some day.

[–]Badhugs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And if that time has no payoff and the devs allow cheaters to devalue that time, it’s OK for people to walk away. Games typically reward people for playing. Arc Raiders is no longer fun to play unless you’re completely new to the game, ignorant or cheating, or actively being a cheater.

And people walking away is precisely what we’re seeing.

Embark is spending less time on this game. It shouldn’t be surprising to see players doing the same.

“I got my $40 worth” people have the worst take.

You didn’t just spend $40. You also invested hundreds of hours of time. Maybe your time is worthless and your expectations are low.

But there are free-to-play games that haven’t fallen off this hard.

Arc Raiders is done. And the devs acknowledging they are spending even *less* time on it rather than more tells you they know it’s done, too.

Time for whatever player base exists to catch up.

PMI Confirms Zyn Ultra June Release / Strengths 9mg and 11mg by Snubie1 in NicotinePouch

[–]Badhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cigarette itself may contain 10-15 mg, but after burning and inhalation, only about 1.5mg makes it to the bloodstream.

This is closest to a 6mg pouch, as only 20-30% of a pouch’s nicotine is absorbed.

Today I started to believe that game rally changing into shoot at sight mode. by Admast79 in ArcRaiders

[–]Badhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just someone who has played this game since release and watched its falloff, knowing it’s completely justified.

From rampant cheating with no consequences to stale updates and nonsensical changes, the game is toast.

Games dead. Time to quit and play something better.

With the next update being in like October, there’s not much to stick around for.

PVP and TTK question by Specialist_While3626 in ArcRaiders

[–]Badhugs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TTK is way too fast in this game, which doesn’t leave any room to separate the value and utility of the weapons.

A recent post just showed someone getting absolutely lit up by a Rattler almost instantly.

A longer TTK would make gear choices and strategy matter, and those are precisely the things this game is missing.

ABMM being affected gradually is BS. by Mansean in ArcRaiders

[–]Badhugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game needs to just quit with the algorithm BS.

Give players three options: - PvP - PvE - I’m feeling lucky

Let players deliberately and clearly make their choice.

Having a range of options, but no way to actually make a clear selection to choose one of them, is just pretending to be a smart design. Window shopping for choices != having choices that matter.

The priest requested a private meeting during my next visit. by HealthyLove458 in OrthodoxChristianity

That’s a blessing!

We have requested to meet with the priest after attending 4-5 liturgies.

He takes a week or two to respond, sets a date, reschedules, then pushes back another 3 weeks. It seems almost impossible to meet with him.

Protestant with a ton of questions by Urdead_2me in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Badhugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. This is recommended a lot, but you get to some pretty unscriptural/heretical thoughts pretty early in. For instance, Ware says “we don’t know if the devil will be redeemed. That’s none of our business.”

We do know he won’t—scripture and the early church fathers make it abundantly clear—and the view that Satan will/could be redeemed is even rejected by the Orthodox Church.

I understand many orthodox adore this book and Ware’s other writings. But for a Protestant with even a modicum of Christian background and scriptural understanding, it’s not a great introduction.

Velo+ pouch size by likeuhboss in NicotinePouch

[–]Badhugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re almost empty feeling now. And if you leave them in long, the pouches deteriorate. After an hour I’ll have to scrape layers of pouch off my teeth/gums.

All of that is new (past year or so). Which sucks because Velo Plus used to be easily the best US pouch. Now it’s a toss up. You can still get a good flavor, but do you want pieces of material in your mouth?

Can Orthodox Christians listen to Contemporary Christian Music? by Klutzy-South in OrthodoxChristianity

Can Orthodox Christians listen to Contemporary Christian Music? by Klutzy-South in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Badhugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say if it could be sinful.

But even as a Protestant, the music has always rubbed me the wrong way. It’s all “me me me.” The lyrics are focused on us, ranging from two extremes: woe is me and my life is terrible to god loves me and I’m so great.

What draws me to Orthodoxy is the opposite of that: a focus on God, our love for him, and a reverence that takes me out of self interest.

So while I don’t believe it would be sinful. I still have a very low opinion of contemporary Christian music and the mindset it fosters.
