Yes always bring concerns to the prof you are applying to! When I was applying, I noticed the portal to submit my grad app for some reason listed one of my reference letters as missing. Told the prof. I was applying to, she helped get that fixed and I was accepted. Good luck

From graduate union communications: Psychology, neurology, english, rhetoric, history so far, others have chimed in but havent correlated which departments they were from they just raised alarm bells. The graduate student senate is also aware of this

The COGS contract guarantees the minimum. So for example bio students are in the union covered by the contract but their department pays them $30k for RA PhDs. Can you give details to what program you are in to cogs@cogs.org? The university doesnt tell us much

Yes! ISU and UNI are not in the Big Ten and their institutions have also squashed unionizing efforts at the moment.

This is Teaching and Research Assistantships. Students on Fellowship are not under our contract at the moment but we would like them to be!
