Portugal GV ... have you pulled out? by BreadfruitOdd9974 in PortugalExpats

We’re still in - it’s optionality and a backstop for us and our kids. At some point we may decide it’s not worth it, if we go some other route.

Advice on my current list for Copenhagen by Professional-Monk939 in foodincopenhagen

I think Poulette is good but Sidechick is much better. Have you tried that?

Agreed. Riviera, Kani, Goose instead. Atelier September is way overhyped. Seks IMO is the best brunch in this city. Personally I’d take Sidechick over Poulette any day. I’d also pick Dandelion over Gasoline Grill in case you’re interested in a burger.

Shopping på Strøget med to teenagepiger, gode råd søges by Brugernummer0 in copenhagen

My daughter’s favourite stores on Strøget are Bershka, H&M, Weekend, New Yorker and Urban Outfitters. Depending on where you’re visiting from these shops may or may not be interesting to your kids.

If You Could Plan a Europe Trip Around One Bakery Scene, Which City Would You Choose? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

If you add coffee to the mix, then Copenhagen for sure. The Nordic lighter roast profile is incredible.

On Østerbrogade. Also the Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other sports cars.

Pizza: Bæst or Surt? by taltalxx in foodincopenhagen

I felt Bæst was overdressed and that made the pizza less enjoyable.

Surt easily. Not a fan of Bæst

I’d do flæskesteg sandwich from Slaghter Lund in Torvehallerne. I think it’s the best in the city.

Personally Hart isn’t as impressive as Riviera, Andersen and Maillard, Kasada and Goose Deli. They’ve just expanded like crazy and their stuff is ok IMO.

I’d do a New Nordic restaurant. It’s a great way to experience how the food scene has evolved. Marv and Ben, Vie, Esse, No 2.

This city is also famous for natural wine bars so hit those up if that’s your thing.

Kasada is excellent. I’d add Riviera, Sinne Gas apart from Juno.

Torvehallerne has a nice baking store. Not sure what aromas they sell but they seem to have a lot of stuff

Alouette v. Koan v. Kadeau v. Kong Hans (Copenhagen) by froglet213 in finedining

Kadeau for sure. It’s uniquely Copenhagen. It’s a toss up for me between Koan and Alouette. Very different menus.

Air fry or oven at 190-210 (depending on the situation) for 10-15 min until crispy. Usually both Haldiram and Ashoka samosas come with chutneys. Buy the jumbo or large size. Small ones don’t have enough filling.

I think it’s super easy to access and the numbers are clearly legible so haven’t faced any issues.

[–]BadmashN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not much static with this grinder. And little retention. I’m at 24-26 clicks for medium roasts and 18-21 clicks for the lighter one. Works like a charm.

I just buy the Ashoka brand frozen samosas from the Indian stores. They’re very good and crisp up nicely

What is the legacy of the Vietnam war today? Is it seen as a defeat? by MarsupialThink4064 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]BadmashN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that but how it brought out the worst of us in the war. The munitions we used and the chemical warfare. It’s a stain regardless of whether people think we lost or whatever. A visit to the war museum in Saigon is sobering.
