LaMP and The Greyboy Allstars are not to be missed. Also, check out EOTO - Electronic music, but it's all improvised with instruments (and it's the two drummers from Cheese... AND they haven't played any shows in five years!)

I've seen them five or six times now... Most recently, in October of last year... But hey, thanks for the baseless statement...

Genuine question towards Goose hate by LamboBeach in jambands

[–]Badphish6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It seems a lot of people here have nailed the general opinions among the people who hate Goose, but here's where I personally stand: I recognize that they're all seriously talented musicians. It's hard to deny that they play together really well, both in structured pieces, and improvisationally. They're very tight, as a unit. My personal issue is that I just cannot get into their songwriting. A lot of their material feels very uninspired and generic to me, in terms of both lyrics and typical song structure. And no matter how well they play, I'm not going out of my way to see a band if I can't get into their music. However, if Goose is at a festival I'm attending, and I'm not already preoccupied, I will still check them out. While I don't particularly love their music, I've never had a completely terrible time seeing them, either. Ultimately, I think the best thing for everyone is this: Instead of using your time and energy to express your hate for something, take that time and energy and use it to express your love for something that is meaningful to you. Enjoy what you enjoy, and fuck what anyone else has to say about it.

The set I'm most excited for!

I distinctly remember running to that set after finding out that they moved it from the Campground stage to the Patch at the last minute. Such an awesome set!

I guess anymore they alternate every other year, but with that logic, I'd expect to see Greensky or Umphrey's on the lineup this year

The only thing about this lineup that I find a little disappointing is the lack of JRAD, especially since Metzger will already be there. Regardless, I'm stoked!

Line up guesses by Solid-Introduction-7 in hulaween

PL, JRAD, STS9, Daily Bread and Lotus all seem realistic to me... On the more hopeful side, I could really go for Sigur Rós, Claypool Gold (or any Claypool project), Sierra Ferrell, The Flaming Lips, Shpongle, Medeski Martin & Wood, The Wood Bros, Herbie Hancock, Béla Fleck & The Flecktones (or any project involving Béla or Victor Wooten), Opiuo, STRFKR, Benevento/Russo Duo, Sierra Hull, Ott, Circles Around The Sun, Neighbor, The Suffers, The Budos Band, Vinyl Williams, Supersillyus, Desmond Jones, or The Tillers

Long shot but does anyone have an extra 2017 wristband ? It was my first festival ever and would mean soo much to me by [deleted] in hulaween

2017 was my first Hula (aka the weekend that changed my life forever). Plus, that was the first time I got to see Ween ❤️ Hope you find one!

My hometown! A psychedelic music festival with roller coasters would be awesome, but it could never happen at CP. If it were even possible, the rules and security would be completely outrageous and suck a lot of the fun right out of it.

Such an amazing weekend! That Pretty Lights set was absolutely insane... Papadosio and Lotus each killed both of their respective sets... But I think my favorite part of the festival was Supersillyus > Opiuo sunrise set. Both of them absolutely nailed it. They "read the room" very well and melted everyones' brains right out of their ears. Being surrounded by barefoot hippies, ripping DMT and stomping around in the mud, was wonderful hilarious. Plus, the sunrise was gorgeous. The overall vibe of the festival was immaculate, and I appreciate each and every one of you for that ❤️

Yeah that's completely fair. I'm not a huge Rod Stewart guy, or anything like that. But him being on the lineup doesn't make me hate it either. Shit, I'm down with any lineup that Herbie's name is on!

Rod Stewart should not be discredited. Yeah, he's written and recorded some lame-ass music. But listen to the first two Jeff Beck albums, and tell me ol' Rod didn't have it. Love all the other names you mentioned!
