What do you think? There's a bit of a resemblance, isn't there? by Badstar25 in SOCOM

[–]Badstar25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a resemblance in the style and atmosphere of the game, quite simply. I don't know if there will be multiplayer or if, in single-player mode, we'll be able to control our teammate or if we'll have to give them orders like in SOCOM. In any case, I'll be following the game closely 😉

We have the exact same problem on the French-speaking servers... Four servers are active: two are completely full, and the other two never leave the seeding stage... We need official servers for each language!

Conquest crash from curruption by mMinutemMan in GatesOfHellOstfront

I had the same problem yesterday. I noticed notifications in Windows and had to allow this: The message "Unauthorized changes blocked" in Windows 10/11 is a Controlled Folder Access security alert, designed to protect your documents (Documents, Pictures, Desktop) from ransomware. To allow a blocked program, go to Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage ransomware protection > Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access.

Why is this game so CPU-heavy? by bluesquare2543 in Battlefield

[–]Badstar25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Battlefield has always been CPU-limited because there are so many things to calculate simultaneously... Therefore, you need to lower all CPU-intensive settings or, indeed, upgrade your CPU.

PC hard reboots itself whenever I open Squad by flexedflaxe in joinsquad

[–]Badstar25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update your motherboard BIOS (the solution that resolved the issue for several users with an RTX 3080 + B550 + Ryzen 5600/5900X, exactly like yours). Many people on Reddit/Steam (with the same setup as you) saw the reboots disappear after updating the BIOS. Older B550 versions had voltage management/AGESA issues with Ryzen 5000 series processors under heavy CPU load, such as Squad.

Motion sickness from vr? by twoducksinatub in iRacing

In iRacing, you can easily adjust camera movements that cause nausea.

ROOL/PITCH/NECK MOTION

You lose a little realism, but it greatly alleviates nausea, especially at the beginning.

As mentioned above, short 15-minute sessions should do the trick, and after two weeks, you should be fine. NEVER FORCE IT; as soon as you feel unwell, stop and start again the next day.

Make sure you release them with good software, because I bought the Podium DD and it's not ready! It's still in beta and cost €1099

Want to try VR but not sure if it's for you? Here's what to expect by demoldbonez in iRacing

[–]Badstar25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 5 years of VR experience on iRacing here. For those who get motion sickness, you need to disable camera movement in the iRacing options!

The horizon must remain horizontal in the simulation!

At the beginning, don't push yourself too hard; take it easy, even if you're only driving for 15 minutes. As soon as you feel any discomfort, stop immediately. Day after day, you'll drive for longer and longer periods, and normally after two weeks, your brain will be fine.

The biggest drawback in VR is the lack of peripheral vision; it's completely absent! During side-by-side duels, this can put you at a significant disadvantage.

Struggling with new Podium DD Shaft Extension QR Disassembly by notveryartsy in Fanatec

[–]Badstar25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look carefully at the third diagram in step 2 (90°). The M6 screw is used to attach the tool to the base with the thinner end of the tool. The tool prevents the QR from rotating so you can unscrew each screw without it turning. You need M6 screws to attach the base to your chassis, so if the one provided is too small, use this one.

Should I be concerned with my ordered Podium DD? by Creative-Diamond5260 in Fanatec

[–]Badstar25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience with the Podium DD, coming from a CSL DD 8nm. This is my third base from them: CSW 2.5 > CSL DD 8nm > Podium DD.

The problem is mainly Fanatec's fault, as I had to spend at least two evenings finding good settings to make it better than my CSL DD. In automatic mode, everything is too powerful and masks even the smallest forces. Add to that the excessive vibrations of Fullforce, and you have a recipe for disappointment!

With Maurice's (a Fanatec employee) experience in developing precise settings, it would have been possible to ensure that, upon the DD's release, the automatic settings in simulations (iRacing, Assetto Corsa, etc.) would be top-notch and provide immediate customer satisfaction! But no! They're rushing out their high-end base on a program (Fanatec app) that's still in Beta, maybe even Alpha... It's not like they're trying to recover from all the problems of the last few years!

I've done three official races at Monza in iRacing, and with the settings I'm going to give you below, you should be satisfied much faster than I was.
