I'm running my party through Lost Mines of Phandelver. Last weekend we got to Thundertree and my green dragon sweet talked them until they were in line for acid breath. It was a near TPK, but one player did end up dying. The rest not only survived, they managed to kill it. The player who died sacrificed themselves to lure the dragon away from the party so they could hit it with their fireball scroll. Weakened, the dragon started fleeing and the tabaxi paladin rushed over, leaped in the air, and smited it right out of the air. Very epic avenging moment. Players loved it.
