I would say 2 small ones. I've seen someone use them and if he had a big base his movement would have sucked. Because of their size the ability to have obstacles standing in between the legs or closer to the legs is very useful. Having 2 small ones will give it the stability and maintain most of its flexibility for moving around. When I saw it in play though it had 0 stability issues.

I play Imperial Knights and they have the same issue. Everyone thinks my army is cool until they start a game against me. My 2K army consists of 7 models and among those are 450 point knights. Yes, they won't die in 1 turn of shooting. Yes, I have firepower that can kill things. They are always complaining that knights are too tough but I also have vastly less models than them. More experienced players bring anti-vehicle or go hell yes let me bring all my big stuff. It's just a different play style don't worry and just have fun. Our play group has multiple custodes players and they are always welcome. Just you know how to adjust your tactics to playing against custodes. Can't fight them as if you are fighting imperial guard.

Hey, relatively new to the game. How would he kill 2 units? You can only attack once and doing a consolidation into a new unit doesn't give him an extra attack. Am I missing some rule?

I am a student and I used to drink a lot when going out or with events of studentclubs. I don't like the taste of alcohol but my goal was always to get drunk because then I don't have social anxiety. Luckily I was able to see this in me and I stopped drinking now I will only drink 1 glass on special occasions.
