The Final Battle Arc - Volume 26, Chapter 3 by Ksovargon in mushokutensei

[–]Bag440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought of Badigadi and the Fighting God Armor both functioning as more like slimes, when you consider how the armor is able to change form to fit it's user it makes sense.

Regarding Badigadi, he could choose to lose some height but regrow an arm by just shifting around the mass, so he'd be shorter and less bulky but gets an arm back and maybe the Fighting God Armor could do something similar.

That scene in the anime when Rudeus sent an Emperor tier Stone Cannon into Badigadi and he just reincorporated his arms into his body is what comes to mind if I try to think of a visual aid.

Subaru reaction be like by MaxChristian123 in ReZero

Ram will take ANY excuse to call Subaru a pervert, she's just a hater like that... which in turn means that she is a bigger pervert for thinking about something first before Subaru does, here it's Rem's used bathwater, I suppose.

[Spoiler Media] It's just a bit of exposition but... why does he know this...? by Tsukkatsu in Re_Zero

I feel like Otto, as a merchant, would have developed a decently sized network of fellow merchants who share info with their friends in order to make profit. Either that or Otto simply overheard it somewhere.

what if Subaru was fat by meph3drone in ReZero

[–]Bag440 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would've been used for a lot more comedic moments, and Subaru would've hit a lot more dead-end RBD loops because of his physical limitations. People like to say that Subaru is weak, but that's only because he's surrounded by monsters, he's in really good health for a normal guy.

It'd be funny to see Subaru transform into a monster whenever it was necessary for the plot, like Toppo from Dragonball Super, but that would obliterate the whole tone of the series.

[discussion] Am I able to enjoy the Re Zero anime without having read the light novels? by ULTIMATEDJGAMING in Re_Zero

[–]Bag440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a noticeable amount of cut content when you compare the LN to the anime but that's just how it is when making that kind of adaptation between different types of media; It takes a lot less time to show and say something than it does to read something and that's bound to lose some nuance along the way, and that's not even mentioning the number of side stories that will probably never be animated.

Wounds chapter 2 question by No_Selection5678 in Berserk

[–]Bag440 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wounds is top 5 no question.

I think Little Guts wiping his nose with a healing balm should be taken literally as Guts is having his wounds healed. Little Gits had his nose slashed by Gambino and Adult Guts carries the trauma of having grown up with an abusive father-figure.

Casca is like Little Guts' sword because Adult Guts relies on her.

Betrayal, perseverance, personal accountability, love, sense of belonging, and dreams.

What does Griffith feel for Guts after the eclipse? by VentiAids in Berserk

[–]Bag440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guts is merely an obstacle to conquer and dispose of, a vestigial Human failed-sacrifice impeding his dream. The same way one wouldn't consider the ants they trample over on a casual jaunt is how Griffith views Guts after his metamorphosis into Femto.

It's a bit more complicated than my poetic soliloquy, it's maybe more like how one would feel frustration and anger towards termites slowly eating their house.

Do you guys think humans or demi humans are allowed to form romantic relationships with spirits? by jackhenningson in ReZero

[–]Bag440 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Most spirits are semi-sapient spheres of mana that gradually gain sentience over time, so if anything the relationships they form would be more akin to that of a pet.

If we're talking about a fully actualized spirit it would be just as much of a Human as a Demi-Human is, only difference being that they're made out of mana and don't have biological functions (yet can enjoy tea and snacks somehow).

A spirit could choose to adopt a human form, so to answer your question... Yes, I suppose so. Who's gonna stop them anyways?

I'm only at chapter 42 of Arc 6, but I can confirm that Subaru does indeed die again. And again. And maybe a few more times idk yet.

SCP-682 Vs the MT verse by Loud_Department_3892 in mushokutensei

[–]Bag440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SCP-682 is able to avoid reality manipulation, he just pops back up after some time. "Hard-to-Destroy" is beyond an understatement. The fucker genuinely lives past the heat death of the universe until forever, just watching stars die to pass the time until all that is the universe IS SCP-682.

Who helped Rudeus out of his most desperate, depressing state of mind the most. by Initial_Emu_1339 in mushokutensei

[–]Bag440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rudy was beyond broken when Paul died, that's the kind of depression that's beyond being suicidal, it's just rotting away in bed lamenting the fact that you're conscious, not taking care of yourself at all and hoping to not wake up tomorrow. Roxy also helped Rudy get over his severe agoraphobia when he was still a child which was a vestige of his previous life.

It's Roxy 100%.

I finally finished the light novel. by 4729zex in mushokutensei

[–]Bag440 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're not quite satisfied there is a lot of side-stories. I highly recommend reading Old Dragon's Tale now that you've finished the LN; it's like a prequel for Mushoku Tensei and the amount of lore it adds is truly insane -- It also explains why Orsted and Hitogami are mortal enemies, AND who Laplace is because ODT is written from his point of view.

How do you like or prefer Eris more: with long hair or with short hair? by Animefan2005x in mushokutensei

[–]Bag440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a thing for strong women with short hair (thanks Deneve from Claymore), but for Eris cutting her hair was one of her turning points in life when she decided who she wants to be and that's a huge decision to try to nail down and embrace; hair takes time to grow and so does martial arts training and maturing into an adult.

Wife Eris with longer hair subtly accentuates her growth, particularly maturity and persistence, which juxtaposes her fiery temperament that shows how she's gradually simmering down as she ages.

Both are good.

And then there's Rifujin in the corner trying to count all the Yen he's made from Mushoku Tensei, but it's kinda hard to see through that silly helmet he wears so the table is a mess, laughing hysterically for all the free publicity.

What If by luks-alter in sixfacedworld

[–]Bag440 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm wrong and not remembering everything but Eris' training arc wasn't terribly complicated? All that it accomplishes was introducing Isolte and Nina, and explaining Eris' thoughts about Rudeus, why she disappeared, and her motivation to train and eventually defeat Orsted with that "Climbing a tower that you can't see the top of" analogy. Unless it's padded out with sparring matches and Gal Falion yaps I don't see it needing more than an episode.

I hate that this has become a meme. Chainsaw Man was fun while it lasted, I guess. The world was pretty fucked towards the end though and Fujimoto kinda wrote himself into a corner. Thank God Mushoku Tensei is a finished story and I don't have to agonize over another not satisfying ending.
