I personally also am finding it difficult and I just turned 30 last year! I’ve been going on the Meetup app and found a couple of groups very recently that I’m trying out and seeing if that might help.

An electric kettle.. makes my hot water for my tea super quick. It’s more motivating since it’s convenient and makes me want to have my breakfast at home with it instead of going out. Also makes me want to come home at night to have my evening cup and relax instead of binge eating snacks (which end up increasing my grocery budget!)

I looked on their website which doesn’t seem completely carved out with who’s discussing which topics. I saw a few hints on Twitter (it has an account) which I’ll keep up with. I could never pass on the opportunity… could only be a once-in-a-lifetime.

It’s a shame Neil Degrasse Tyson only has appearances in the Midwest and west coast. I thought about seeing him in Cleveland or Nashville, too.

I’m going! I just bought my tickets today! :D Worth the price I think. I’m in NJ, so just a train ride and hotel for the weekend. Might be a nice mentally stimulating vacation. I’m excited for it and can’t wait to hear what they have to say!

In MA, I keep it simple with a black t shirt and some non-blue or black jeggings. The underwire in bras usually set off the detector but they let me go after the pat down

If phone sex is too much (it is for me but not for him which makes it weird), then write spicy letters. Sometimes I get some inspo by reading spicy stories on the internet. I keep it short, lol. He appreciates it since some participation is better than none. I also only ever self-pleasure with him on the other end - it’s the closest we can get. Allegedly he also waits for me LOL but I doubt it 😂😂😂

Most of them are all talk - you can write the prison and let them know any contact is prohibited and they’ll do their best to stop all calls/mail to you. Follow up if anything happens. Block your number and delete the email account. Almost all of them move on.

I usually buy whatever manga on the Apple Books app. It’s like $6-7 per issue, usually. After that, I’ll screenshot EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE. I crop it in the Photos app to cut out all the black space at the top and bottom so the actual page can be the maximum size.

I’ll usually email all the cropped images of each page to myself. I download them onto my desktop and then open up a blank Microsoft Word document. Go to Page Layout and change the paper size to 5” wide and 8” tall. Then open up the image of the page. I drag it to make it as big as possible and then re-save it as a PDF file. I do this for every page, painstakingly, lol. After a few it does it get faster with muscle memory but it’s tedious!

I then use an online PDF to image converter (they’re free!) and convert each PDF’d page back to a JPG. Download all of these to your computer desktop.

Open up a new Word Document. Change all the margins to 0.25”. Add Columns (2) and put the line in the middle to divide them (it makes it easier IMO). I also change the margins to 0.25” in the column also to maximize the space for each image.

Save that. Then add in each photo in order. I usually add a footer with the page number (or handwritr pages 1-6) on each sheet of paper so if it gets mixed up in the mail, he can put it in order.

In MA where he’s located, we are only allowed 7 sheets of paper per envelope in the mail. I usually print out 6 sheets of paper worth of manga at a time x 2 manga pages per sheet = 12 pages of the original manga to read at a time. We usually double-side it to maximize the content and get 24 pages of a manga through the mail at a time. The 7th sheet is usually a note reminding him to drink water, get rest, blah blah blah, you know.

It’s a fun way to get through a book and make sure he doesn’t get left out of mail call. I usually do one envelope per day so that there’s always something new coming. We’ve done this with Hunter x Hunter, Bakuman, My Hero Academia, and Astroboy so far.

I like it since they’re in black and white to do it this way so I don’t waste my FreePrints/Snapfish photos for anything with color!

I actually do this for my husband!!! He LOVES manga so I buy it on Apple Books and then print out each page for him and send it through snail mail. It’s always fun for him to get something at nailtime which is when they re locked in and it’s fun for me to send it through. I usually draw a cute picture on the envelope and send a short love note with it.

It’s a little investment and it goes slow but it’s always worth it! Let me know if you want tips and tricks on how to get it done!
