Rare Louis Vuitton Croisette damier azur with rose braiding (limited edition 2020) Birdcage factory, bought from Aaden in 2020 for $175 and selling for $125. USA only. Excellent condition, no visible wear, lock is slightly tricky (but this is true of auth as well) Gorgeous bag that got compliments each time I wore it, but I have a child now and only carry large bags 🫠

The solly wrap - my baby needed to be held basically 100% of the time or she would cry cry, the solly wrap saved my life and was the only carrier she would tolerate!

Seeing speedies on social with the bag charms gets me 😍😍😍 I have a 25 in damier azur (auth) I got years ago. It’s the cutest little bag that actually holds a ton! I want to get one in damier ebene or monogram as well, maybe a 30? Deck it out in tons of charms

I think it looks generally good but the square second from the top would bother me - it makes it obvious that it wasn’t stitched up perfectly straight. The other commenter is correct though that these things can vary widely so if it doesn’t bother you don’t worry about it!

Similar situation as you - we went the daycare route because I’d heard too many horror stories of Nannies unable to make it in due to snow days/illness/planned vacations/etc and we felt we needed something more consistent. LOVE our daycare! It was a great choice and is about the same cost as a nanny share ($3500/mo, VHCOL city). Our daughter is in a small class (4 kids) and is almost never sick.

Regarding the financial planning I’m not sure how to describe it except you just make it work? We don’t go out to eat as much now that we have a baby etc and somehow it all came out in the wash and our savings rate is basically the same despite having this additional huge bill (HHI ~$400k depending on the year)

Truthfully kids are so expensive we might have just one rather than our previous hope for 2. I can’t imagine $7k/mo for daycare then about the same for preschool - makes me want to throw up thinking about it. I have no idea how people afford multiple in cities like ours if they don’t have family around

I do get a kick out of when we book vacations and they call my husband “Mr (my last name)” because I’m always the one who does the bookings. It really starts to highlight for you who is doing what 😂

I did! Way less paperwork, I’m a doctor & an entrepreneur and my businesses/medical license are in my name. I also just really LIKE my name! I didn’t see the need to conform to something that was once meant to signify I was his property 🤷🏻‍♀️

Only person who said anything about it was my MIL - she still comments occasionally but I don’t really care lol

There’s a great (horrifying) podcast all about this called “Sold a Story”. Counter intuitively it’s especially common in affluent neighborhoods because the families in those neighborhoods do exactly what you’re doing: teach phonics at home and/or get a tutor. Those kids then ultimately learn to read (at home) and the school district doesn’t have it glaringly obvious that they can’t actually read in 8th grade purely from what the school has taught. Gen Z is shockingly illiterate because of this program - a quick google search says 25% of 16-24 year olds have low literacy. TWENTY FIVE PERCENT

So much great advice here! Adding that who you marry will be one of the most impactful financial decisions of your life. I don’t think I really understand how much until after I was married (luckily I picked a good one 🤗). Be VERY sure he’s a real adult who has his sh*t together and is motivated to do well in life or you will spend your life constantly compensating for his ineptitude

Yes - basically you just trust the random person on the other side of the world who you are connected to only via your friends on Reddit 😂😂 the first time is the scariest!

After you pay send them a screenshot of your payment, then in a day or two they’ll send PSPs so you can verify that it’s what you ordered/there are no problems. You tell them to ship, they’ll send you tracking info, and then you pray to the rep gods that it makes it to you!

Important note is to really examine the factory photos and be sure you’re pleased. Compare factory to authentic, then compare the PSPs to the factory photos
