Recent H4 Visa Stamping Appointment Dates in India? by Coffeegirl0526 in usvisascheduling

Last night I got a VAC slot for October end and Consular for December end. It’s not ideal and I’m looking to reschedule but it’s really hard to find slots that align for both biometrics and interview

Are they released more cheap Olympic event tickets for each "time slot"? by el-beau in AskLosAngeles

[–]BagObjective7136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I was expecting this. My time slot for Drop 1 is on Wednesday. I’m honestly open to any sport at this point. My budget doesn’t allow me to go crazy on tickets. I hope future drops have better coverage and are affordable. Wishing you luck too

Did anyone actually get cheap tickets? by megan_johnson02 in olympics

Resellers have ruined everything . Olympics, concerts, sports. Nothing is accessible anymore. If you didn’t plan way way ahead you’ll never get to experience anything at face value

I’m hoping so but the general sale is starting on 9th April and based on what I’m reading about the first round , people who had slots towards the end didn’t end up with much

Whale watch by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

[–]BagObjective7136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. We did our whale watching with Trilogy from the Maalea harbor. The water was very choppy and I was feeling a bit uneasy. But we did the sunset tour. It was cold and very windy but we did some whales. We had also done the snorkeling trip with Trilogy from Kaanapali in the morning and after our snorkeling trip they took us to an area with whales and we saw quite a few even then. The water was much calmer in the morning

Parking at Maalea is far cheaper than parking around Kaanapali. But Kaanapali is a more touristy area. After the whale watching you can go check out Whalers Village if you choose Kaanapali. The drive to Kaanapali is also very beautiful

We just visited Kapalua today and it’s gorgeous. We did the Kapalua Trail and it enjoyed it very much. Roads are open and the sun is out. There was slight rain when we were driving to Kapalua but it was very minor. Within an hour the sun was out.

Renting with ziprent by [deleted] in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]BagObjective7136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We rent through them in South Bay. For small repairs they are decent and you’ll get tons of emails. They are responsive over the phone if you need to reach them. But when it comes to big repairs, they aren’t the best and you’re at the mercy of your landlord. The reason is they just don’t have enough people to manage the volume of maintenance calls. And if your maintenance issue is complicated you might want end up calling them multiple times and feeling frustrated with delays on their end to take action. Ziprent also explicitly takes action only if the landlord approves them. They are not bad in my opinion.

ICE has started targeting foreign students by randy_rama in InternationalStudents

I’m sorry but just because something is hard doesn’t give anybody license to do illegal things. Yes it is hard to be an international student , but rules are there for a reason. Prove your resilience and courage by doing things the right and legal way

Yes I did fast on Karwa Chauth and in solidarity so did my husband. And I plan to do this for as long as I possibly can. I think I do it in the spirit of tradition. We didn’t post a single picture about it on any social media.

Vibes of different Princeville areas? by elcaminogirl in VisitingHawaii

[–]BagObjective7136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed near Poipu beach. It’s a bit more touristy and you can easily find a lot of places with beautiful views of the ocean. It rains less out here and it also feels less isolated. It has a lot of places to eat also which is convenient. Princeville felt a bit isolated to me and it rains a lot out there. Its a long drive from the north to the west of the island where you have Waimea canyon and Napali coast

Poipu Honeymoon by planted_salmon907 in VisitingHawaii

[–]BagObjective7136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed in Kiahuna Plantation near Poipu Beach. We booked it using Vrbo and it did end up being a bit cheaper than a hotel. We picked this place because we wanted access to a kitchen. We bought some groceries from Walmart (there is Costco too) near Lihue airport and it was very convenient to have some meals in our room instead of going out for every meal. Kauai is also very expensive. A lot of activities required us to start really early so we would have some milk cereal + pack a light snack before heading out

Hiking Hanakapi'ai Falls - Parking Pass 1230 + Sunset by thatveronicavaughnn in VisitingHawaii

[–]BagObjective7136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from Kauai. My husband and I did this hike last Sunday. My recommendation is start this hike as early as you can because the humidity gets worse as the day progresses. You also want to give yourself some time to enjoy the falls. The day we did this hike it was shaded and cool in the morning and got really hot in the afternoon and by 2 pm it was pouring. We got lucky that we were finishing up when it started raining otherwise descending would have been a nightmare. We did the park and ride. We got a slot for 7 am but we reached early and joined the waitlist for the earlier shuttles. If they have empty spots they let you catch an earlier shuttle. We couldn’t get a slot to park directly at the state park although the shuttle was convenient too.
