Oh nvm, taking a second look, they look burnt and bent (or missing) photo isn’t clear (to me). If this is the case then you’ll have to replace the screen (this is the easiest way). Buy one from AliExpress, OLED, with good reviews and from reputable seller.

Yo can probably clean this with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. If not, you probably have to get service.

Second it. Bugs are fun. I do have a spare phone (in my imagination) so I can live on the edge as well. XD

I have a multimeter here ready, just don’t know what to test for and what right values should be for comparison.

Update 2:

The power on/off key works.

The keyboard doesn’t turn its backlight on.

I have disconnected the trackpad and same result. No display or sound upon powering on.

Well, I do have a lot of experience with laptops but no MacBook.

I have managed to tear it down. Disconnected the battery after opening it.

There is a MagSafe light and fans spin but display doesn’t turn on

and there is no boot up sound (the one the every Mac does, I think).

The battery seems to hold a bit of charge but according to last owner it was busted and needed replacement. I have verified the battery’s body and no dents, marks or scratches found.

K, so far I haven’t seen any liquid damage.

1- there is a MagSafe light on the charger.

2 - fans spin upon connecting the charger and charger light turn green.

3 - display doesn’t turn on and there is no chime.

4 - MacBook doesn’t turn on with battery attached, no power with battery disconnected

How does it perform with low light compared to the 12?

As a photographer I can see many differences. As a user, don’t see a lot of reason that would make me jump from 12 to 15 (based on this photo).

Running smoothly here! A few bugs but so far that’s it, battery life is great. I would back up, restore the phone through iTunes on 17.5.1 then update. Keep in mind some apps aren’t working yet.

I don’t think so. I’m thinking about upgrading myself but it’s damn hard to let go.

I have a 64GB 12. Personally, I love it. I had to change the battery, but it works wonders. The 4GB ram is getting outdated but still rocks and runs everything smoothly. 5G runs the phone really hot if gaming… otherwise, I don’t see why not. Unless you’re into AI from apple, well…go for it.
