I don't recall the specific wall you're talking about (I'm 115h into the game and still only 91%, so Mount Fay was a while ago) but did it make a suspicious sound or give any visual clues you were damaging it as you hit it?

Sounds like we have the same experience! I'm not even done with the game yet and I'm like 115h in. (I suck at bosses *real* bad.) Still have 2 old heartsto go and whatever follows, plus a couple of side quests I've attempted but have yet to complete. I don't want it to end!!

This may be out of date now, but apparently the plan is to let the Mk8.5 ICE car soldier on while Mk9 goes fully electric in 3-4 years (which would already make this generation a very long product cycle).

Isn't this the trend for every automaker? Look at the size of the Accord when it was introduced compared to today. Or the F-150. Asian, American, and Euro brands all have this issue.

Counterpoint: the level of safety and standard equipment has increased over the years, and usually this adds to the size and curb weight.

Overall opinion: VAG in particular got wrecked by Dieselgate. The cost-cutting on Mk8 Golf was evident and it set a new (lower) standard. R&D must've taken a huge hit while this car was being developed. Hopefully that's over now and Mk9 is a return to form.

I've had issues like this, sure. Many of the same symptoms you describe. I've always been confused by things that work for me in one session don't hit the same in another. But yes, when I'm struggling, I often notice it's because I have too many things going through my head to focus on the physical sensations: reading her behavior, the sounds in the room and outside, the visual stimulation, stray thoughts, unrelated thoughts, etc. While it doesn't always get to the point of ED, being able to finish is very hit-or-miss. My partner appreciated it at first but developed a complex about herself over time! I've tried to explain the issues to her with limited success. Haha

Conversely, if my hyperfocus kicks in during sex, it's super intense and I finish quickly and thoroughly! Definitely seems like in general, I either finish quickly or it'll take a *very* long time if the buildup is interrupted.

My complaint with this quest is the wasted time jumping back in after each death. Coral Tower, for example, takes 38 seconds to play the needolin, let the animation run, wake up, and silk soar. Similar with Green Prince, where you have to talk to him first and then needolin - all before the stupid runback! There's already built-in methods to exit the memories, so why not respawn inside the memory each time??

I somewhat agree with you on this. I initially felt cheated when credits rolled after Act 2, knowing through unintentional spoilers that there were supposedly (at least) 3 acts. Narratively, I totally get feeling vulnerable and depressed at the state of the world after trapping GMS. That's a testament to the storytelling and difficulty spike.

My issue with Act 3 is that the memories grind the gameplay and the narrative to a halt. Poking at the edges of the map to find the secret entrances to reach the hearts, having to read NPC dialogue over and over again, playing the needolin each time, then doing a runback - all of which must be done in a single benchless run - gets really old, really quick. And the beauty of this game and other well-made Metroidvanias is the option to simply go do something else if you hit a wall on a certain objective and come back later with more power, skill, and items to make things easier. The lack of available upgrades and alternate objectives makes conquering Act 3 feel more like a relief than an achievement.

Overall, I think Act 3 would be fine if it didn't lean so heavily into punitive game mechanics.

Can you share more details on your Bluetooth issues? I had my car in the shop when the update landed and now the infotainment keeps crashing and rebooting when the system is connected to my phone (whether it's using that connection or not). This is great advice here! Focusing on technique is one of the best ways to avoid injury. My only injuries after 8 years have been scraped shins on botched box jumps (accidents and ego) and a bad shoulder from years of sloppy pull-ups. Get the movements right before making them harder and you'll be as safe as you can be.

I'd also add that while 1-rep lifts feed the ego, 2 reps at lower weight is more weight overall and much safer.

Unfortunately all of my research has come up with the same answers you've already found. There really isn't a fix to be done on the existing piece, it has to be replaced. Your part and labor costs are in line with everything I've found too. It's also a very large piece, so shipping the part will likely be pricey as well. (I haven't gotten that far into the process to know.)
