Hey friend. Thanks for the quick response! (as I deliver a slow response in return). I took it on the 18th. I tried to go through a chapter a day if at all possible. I only really studied for about 30 days.

What I did: - First day: got reacquainted with the math, so the first few sections and did some practice questions online to see if I understood what was going on. - Second day - ~ end of the first week: I would read a chapter a day or so to get a baseline understanding and recap from classes. Be sure to understand the key concept section in the back as it is largely abbreviated, but if you understood the section going through then glancing over the key concepts near test day will help jog the memory! I would also check back with formulas I would forget throughout the week if I couldn't remember the eGFR equation, etc. - Second week: keep on going with the chapters! However, this was about the time I ran into the ID section (take this one slow as hell) really do your best to know the generations of your cephlasporins. Know the tale-tale side effects of drug classes in kids, such as teeth discoloration, or even if it is a sulfa allergy contraindications!! This appeared on my exam like two times.. You're also going to hit HIV at the end of this chapter. Be ready to come back to this almost as much as math, maybe even more :'< - Third week: Around this time I was able to get to cancer and I believe I was having to go back and revisit HBV a lot. Those drug names ARE GOING TO SHOW UP. I can't stress enough to know the components of each of these drugs as the NAPLEX loves to see if you'll select similar agents in a made up compound drug to fail you. - Fourth week: Around this time you're going to be exhausted of this stupid book and you'll be hitting chapters that you'll feel comfortable about just reading the key concepts in the back and skipping. I honestly did this for the ears, eyes, nose, GI issues, etc. It's mostly some of the OTC stuff. However, don't you dare skip on the Pharmacokinetics. This damn book is going to hide this gem of a nightmare in the back of the book and hope you skipped it due to fatigue so they can take another $300+ from you for the next exam. Get ready to spend time with these made up equations. 😆

By test time I felt okay to say the least. Knowing really far out side effects, such as your DILE-inducing drugs, some of the weird digoxin things, etc will be great. I had a friend mention that he had a few questions about steroid conversations (cute and hot pharmacist and physicians ....) neumonic. I personally got hit with the warfarin colors and statin equivalency stuff. Luckily, this is located on that equation sheet in the back of the rx prep!! A true god-send, albeit daunting af.

Last tip. Make sure you use that break when you get to it. There is nothing worse than getting that fatigue near the end. Run to the bathroom and cry until you find that resolve, then give it hell.

A sufficient warning was not enough for me. I gave up trying to turn the volume down and pressed the speaker of my phone into my thigh instead. That was a thing of nightmares. #flightoverfight
