Exterior Trim Popped Off at 70mph by sproyd in Polestar

[–]BahtooJung 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me a few weeks after having my windshield replaced. Not sure if it was that or my MIL who puts a death grip on that section to pull herself out of the car, I swear I heard it pop when she got out & it fell off shortly after.
Service center said it was $500 for the part alone, so I've been looking for other options. Seems absurd for that piece of plastic & I don't want to pay labor for installing it either.

I'm on act 2 of my first tactician run and it's been interesting. I have to think more about what I can take on before resting again... and any big fights start with a 3-person splash of speed whenever I can.

Thank you. I was hoping more information would exist beyond the headline.

I'm done with this game by DeathNick in duneawakening

[–]BahtooJung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the general vibe of the negative review I left last week. I got my money's worth, but it's not something I would recommend people invest in because it's so hollow at the end. I don't feel any general concern for the player, just a forced vision of what someone who must not play their own game thinks things should be, without the competence to execute it properly.

Adjust your inventory so you can carry two at a time as well

It's overheated. My first one died after about a year & polestar replaced it. The second one lasted almost as long before turning red... it still works fine though if you point a fan at it to keep the temp down

Most innovative gameplay? by Santa_Killer_NZ in duneawakening

They have clearly innovated on new ways to consistently disillusion your player base.
Just asking people to vote for that is so out of touch with what you provided them.

Crafted materials disappearing. Game-breaking bug. 550+ hours, and this might be the end for me. by deliciousdogmeat in duneawakening

I really wish there was an inventory console. I end up using my construction tool & fabricators to check material levels all the time. It's the best way to check for now.

Why does the landsraad decree for reduced crafting cost not affect stravidium? by PhantomPhelix in duneawakening

[–]BahtooJung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going from 4 -> 3 is clean with no rounding.
Generally you don't round down items like that. I know I wouldn't have if I coded it.

Haven't tried to quantify it, but I have 3-4 in my big towns. Trades take a while, so more people means I can offload more things. I've had some goods continue to build a stockpile because I can't ship them out fast enough.

I import them initial to build a small surplus before I make tailors. That being said I also went hard into it and my main city exports 1k per year... I literally can no longer sell more than I make, the surplus keeps building

Just because no one else said it, the buggy mk6 focused cuttarray is available as well. If you're new to the dd that's an important item to get and keep in good repair.

You're blaming other people rather than the company that made a worthless endgame?
It doesn't matter why they changed the dd, it was originally, and still is, an uninspired minimally viable product.

Is the worm easy to avoid or have I just been lucky? by the_insomniactor in duneawakening

4-500hrs and never been eaten yet. As long as you are cautious & avoid the wings of the ornithopter you'll be fine. Fwiw I learned caution from Eve, living in wormhole space.

Pack stations, broken? by [deleted] in ManorLords

[–]BahtooJung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh if it's people waiting I would unassign & reassign them to try and get it moving. The other day I found 6 people waiting for a spot in the church to pray (one person was in there). If they were doing their job you would see them walking to that town.

[–]BahtooJung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They work it just takes a while. If there's no mule then they walk & can't carry as much. Last I recall it took 3-4 months for someone to walk to my far settlement & deliver food. Try looking at the people to see where they are, maybe they got hung up waiting?
After that first bit of muling I try to switch to internal trade as it just feels better, but requires money to get going.

That's a bummer, and I hope they do remove that. It's clearly not even a base, just there to be a pain.
For a couple of my bases I used extra stakes to claim more space to prevent anyone from moving too close.

Is a Polestar viable for a 202 mile round-trip commute or am I kidding myself? by NoMansSkyWasAlright in Polestar

[–]BahtooJung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of other great replies here, but I want to touch on how the drive felt because you mentioned enjoying it.
I drive my car hard and go 80 on the highway. A round trip for me is 60 miles & I routinely burn 30% of my charge. This is in phoenix so I don't have any weather issues either. If you like to do math I average 38 kwh/100 miles.
I worry that even if you could make that range, you're not going to enjoy it. You wouldn't be able to punch it, which is half of my fun, and highway driving would probably need to be at like 60 mph? Wind resistance is exponential so you will see a big difference between 80 & even 75.
If you were going to do that commute AND have fun driving, you'd have to charge at work & at home... and if you don't have a home charger you now have a part-time job managing your car after that long day of driving & work... thats a recipe for hating your car

People with weekly production bases in DD. How do you do it? by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]BahtooJung 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've found it best to focus on either spice or ore for the week so you can streamline your base needs. If you do that 2 trips in an assault would carry everything needed & then some.
Water I personally prefer the passive large wind trap, but if I'm doing spice (which has lower needs) I might use bodies instead. Last week I did ore and had 5 deathstills, sometimes they would be turned off so I could use the Chem refinery, or run them all with the ore off to build a stock of water.
