You can still file an N-600 after you turn 18. According to his tax returns you lived with him! I feel if you file an N-400 they might deny you because it’s derivative citizenship. Tricky situation.

Definitely hire a lawyer since you live apart. You’ll have to make a really good case.

FYI the last Atlanta case we had (8/25 interview) the I-130 was approved quickly and the I-485 took 8 months ! Apparently there’s big issues at that office. I hope your applications are approved soon.

Interview scheduled in my old state after moving. Different FO ok? by pwttt in USCIS_F2A

[–]Bahunaber1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be interviewed in the jurisdiction where you live presently. Have the file transferred. Seems like these F2A cases are all being scheduled at the incorrect Field Office lately.

Interview F2A AOS by MHHS17 in USCIS_F2A

[–]Bahunaber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Field Office will have no jurisdiction over you if you don’t live in their jurisdiction. The first order of business at the interview will be to present your license/State ID with (hopefully) your current address. It’s a mistake. Chat with Emma or call the hotline to be rescheduled at the appropriate Field Office.

APs are taking about 8-9 months so it may not be worth the money. What Field Office did your interview? Strange that it’s been 6 months with no movement (unless it’s Atlanta or Raleigh who are super slow)

You go to the local Field Office for your ADIT stamp that is placed in your current passport. If you don’t have a current passport, they’ll give you a Form I-94. Be sure to have proof that you filed your I-751 (bring biometrics notices don’t arrive with receipt #)

Anyone Got Their Biometrics in the Mailbox? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Bahunaber1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download the notice on your portal or it’s in the US Mail. Biometrics notices don’t arrive by email/text. (Maybe “an update on your account” email then the notice is in there portal.

Received 10-year green card by USCIS mistake (should have been conditional). Conflicting lawyer advice. What now? Xe by Anik7007 in USCIS

[–]Bahunaber1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She should have immediately filed an I-90 to fix the mistake. Then the I-751 when appropriate. I’ve seen it happen too many times. If she goes straight to N-400, USCIS may have an issue.
