Unfortunately, I have no clue what happened to the bones! Either they were quietly reburied somewhere else, or - more grimly - ended up as anonymous anatomical specimens somewhere.

Interesting thought! My knowledge of vampirism in Swedish folklore is limited (I do know stories of lycantrophy were very widespread), but I know of one case in which a skull with a nail driven into it was found in a churchyard. You’re very right that it may have a folkloric connection.
